A Haunting Weekend

Friday night Jenny took the spotlight and made Mummy Enchiladas (her speciality).

While we waited for Jenny to clean-up, I took the kids downstairs and played Halloween Bingo.  They LOVED it.  Every time, they got a BINGO, I gave them a fruit roll-up.  By the end, I think they ate more roll-ups than mummies.  When Jenny was finished, we curled up to a classic must-see Halloween Movie:  The Worst Witch!!  One my favorites when I was younger.  And now, for your viewing pleasure, Tim Curry as the Grand Wizard singing:  "Anything Can Happen on  Halloween."

100_0755Saturday we helped Cory and Sharon move up to Payson and then headed up to Vivian Park to board the Haunted Canyon Express.  It was a little chilly, but a lot of fun.  After we 100_0756went up the canyon, the "ghosts" boarded the train as we headed back to the Park.  The "Cat Lady" told Bailee  she wanted to turn her into a cat and Jeremy growled at one of the escaped convicts.  It was great.  The entire next day, Bailee kept saying "Mom, I don't want to be a cat, I want to be a little girl."

Sunday night, we continued our Halloween tradition and ate Skeleton Bones (Ribs) and Maggots (Rice).  After dinner, we watched Garfield's Halloween, and  The Order of the Phoenix."

It was a fun-filled weekend.  And we hope that we are able to do it again next year.

Sunday was special because we got to watch two movies instead of one. The train ride was great. I think Bailee was even dreaming about it because when i put her to bed she said, with her eyes shut, "I don't want to be cat". Too cute. Although, Abby and i will have to prepare for the weather better, note i wasn't wearing a jacket but Glen Gooch was kind enough to borrow me his for the last bit of the ride.

you guys are so creative. I guess I just need to use a little emagination. because I make enchaladas all the time. It probably helps when you have a husband home to help out. Hopefully Louis will be home more next month even though he will be doing is OBGYN rotation. Glad you all had a great time. Stephen has been talking about Jeremy and wanting to go and work on the farm with him in the snow. I told him no such chance this year.

Okay abby tell your mom it is time to update her blog. Is your dad done with the popcorn yet? I think that all of our bets are up now. It's been a few months now.

Sounds like you guys had fun. Was the train ride really cool? Are they still doing it? If so maybe I could take my kids to it this weekend. Anyway can't wait to see you guys this weekend it will be fun trick or treating with you. That's all Rachel can talk about. She is so excited to go with Bailee.

The whole 13 days of Halloween has been great. It really made October go by fast. I can't believe it is November already.
