So Thoughtful

Today Matt and I have been married for eight years.  My how the time flies.  We don't really have anything special planned.  We celebrated over the weekend.  When I got to work this morning I had an email waiting for me.  Matt had written me a poem, so I thought that I would share it here:

When years are passing by like days,
and in my hand your hand is placed,
a knowing smile crosses your face,
a simple touch can still make my heart race.

When I can see my soul in your eyes,
and you see your soul in mine we realize,
that a love so deep can harbor no lies,
where our only tears shed were happy tears we've cried.

I love you as much now as I ever did before,
if possible, I may even love you more,
all starting from a feeling we did not ignore,
a feeling of connection we chose to explore.

I don't know what it is that you saw in me,
what I saw in you was the utmost happiness
that can ever be,
even more so on the day when you and I
became "We",
I can still smile and say with love and
truth Honey, I love you...Happy Anniversary.

He's such a romantic.  I love you sweetie and I truly believe the best is yet to be.

Valentines Date

This year we played tag team with the Stokers. We watched Tyler and Zoey on Friday night while they did their Valentine date and they watched our kids Saturday night.
So we dropped the kids off Saturday afternoon and we headed up to Provo. Matt had made reservations at Tucanos. They were having a Valentine special: candle light dinner, roses, and chocolate covered strawberries. It was great. Here is me with my rose:

After dinner, we decided to go ice skating. Matt was really nervous about his ankle hurting, but his ankle was fine. The bottom of his foot was what was killing him after. He was a good sport.

Soon after his foot went numb he got into really good spirits:

Some lady even stopped and took our picture for us:

After we had our fill of the ice we hopped in the car and headed for home. Matt had given me NCIS season six for our anniversary and we planned an all-night marathon. However, I crashed out after a couple episodes. It was a fun night and spending it with the one I love made it even better.

Bailee's Party

Thursday, Bailee's teacher called me early in the morning stating that preschool was canceled because she was sick, but she would reschedule it for Friday.  So Friday came and Bailee wanted her hair curled and some glitter on her cheeks and she was ready for her party.  I signed up to be the parent helper.  We made Valentine Bags.

The class was split into two groups, one would make their bag and the other would experiment with mixing colors using shaving cream.  Bailee was in heaven:

Then everyone passed out their valentines and Bailee went home with a smile on her face and a bag full of sugar.  She even called her Dad and excitedly told him about everything.  She had a ball and is still working on eating all her valentine treats.

Yes, they are delicious.  When I asked him what the occasion was he said, "Just because it's Tuesday."  Aww shucks,  I love that sappy guy.

Matt's Valentine

I am so excited about Valentines Day.  I love celebrating!!  Especially when we celebrate LOVE.  So this year, I made Matt a Valentine:

I got some chipboard and some paper, a little modge podge, and some glitter pens and voila, we have a valentine:

Of course, being a man, I'm sure he wouldn't be too terribly excited with just some paper, so I threw in the key to his heart:

Food.  Yup, Matt likes his early morning breakfast and late lunches, and since he is going to school and doesn't get home until after 11, I figured he could stop at McDonalds and get a little pick me up.
Love you pookie, I hope you enjoy your valentine!!!

My Journals

I followed my sister-in-law in suit and decided to publish my blog.  I used blurb because you could design your own pages and it was cheaper than other places that I saw.  Here is the final product:

I did them by year.  The second year's book is twice as big as 2008.  I guess I had a lot more to say last year.  Anyway, I LOVE these books.  I put my entire life in print!!  The kids even enjoying flipping through them and finding pictures of things they remember.  Sure it took me two months to make them, but it was totally worth it!!!

Such A Little Man

Tuesday was Jeremy's actual birthday, he was so excited he came upstairs, ready for school dressed in his white church shirt and tie.  He was so cute, after school Grandma Cindy came up to spend some time with the kids.  That night, Cory and Sharon's brood came down for some dinner (Chicken Fusilli) and some cake.

Ammon was so excited to pick out Jeremy's present:

It was a camping set for his all his cowboy stuff.  Next, Grandma Cindy gave him another horse set.  That kid can't get enough of them I tell ya.

It was a fun night.  I love being so close to family that they can share in moments like these.  Happy Birthday little man and in honor of you turning 7, here are 7 reasons why I love you:
1.  You are a reading machine.  I actually have to beg you to put your book away and go to bed.  I love that you enjoy reading.
2.  You've certainly got your own style.  You love wearing ties on special occasions and you always insist on wearing a suit to church.
3.  You are such a big help around the house.  You do chores and keep your room clean, you run errands, and pick up things over at Grandmas.  You are such a big help.
4.  Your best friend is your Grandpa.  When Friday rolls around you are begging me to sleep over at Grandpas, which usually consists of you sitting on your Grandpa's lap, drinking Mt. Dew, and watching cowboy movies.
5.  You are so smart.  You LOVE math (just like your old man) and you pick up on things so fast.  I can no longer spell things in front of you because you figure them out.  There are no secrets from you anymore.
6.  You are so loving and sweet.  Whenever anyone is sick you take care of them and help with whatever is needed.  Thank you for being so sweet.
7.  You love everything cowboy.  Although I won't let you dress or talk like a cowboy, your favorite thing to do is set up all your cowboy stuff and just play with them all day long.  You love going with Grandpa to do the chores and ride your horse.

Well, that's my little man.  He is a great kid and I love him more than anything.  I'm so glad you're my little man.

Cake Eaters

Seven years!!!  My oh my, how time flies.  My little man is seven years old!  We started the celebrations Saturday night with our traditional dinner at TGI Fridays.  Then, Sunday we had a little party since Linsey was up.  Jeremy was quite excited, I still am not quite sure about his wardrobe choices:

But he felt like he was dressed to the nines, so the party began.  He was adorned with gifts and hugs from everyone.

Then we had some cake:

Little back story, about a month ago, Jeremy informed me that there were some boys in his class that got cell phones for Christmas and that he thought that it was time that he got a cell phone.  In my mind I was thinking (First Graders!!  With Cell Phones!!!  What are their parents names and I will just have a little talk with them.  I mean seriously, who gives a first grader a cell phone!!!)  But I just smiled and informed him that he wasn't responsible enough for a phone quite yet.  I'm hoping that explanation will fly at least until he is 16, we'll see though.  So when he saw the cell phone cake at the store, he begged me to get it for him.  So I snatched it up and told him that the phone on the cake was the closest he was getting to a real cell phone for several years.
Anyhoo, the kids were all quite excited for some birthday cake, and in keeping with tradition, they hall took off their shirts and sat at the table anxiously waiting for the sugar rush that was about to ensue:

I don't know what it is, but birthday cake tastes better than just about any cake.  Even carrot cake tastes better if it is a birthday carrot cake.  Man, I LOVE birthdays.

Psych 4.5

It was a great party.  Psych returned for the second part of season 4.  It was hilarious.
Psych1
Psych2
We started the night out with an insane amount of food.  After everyone was full, we started the show.  After the episode we had some door prizes and we went over the Psych trivia.  Cory was quite upset that I was making him take a test at a party.  Linsey was the winner of the grand prize (a pineapple) and everyone went home with a full tummy and a smile on their face.
