I am pretty good at getting what I want. I would even go as far to say that I get what I want about 90% of the time. That being said, I have a BIL and SIL who have the worst luck. They have been robbed more than once and other various disasters have happened to them. So let me start off by saying Matt and I should have known something was going to happen. Saturday we went up to Thriller.
AWESOME! If you don't know what that is, give me a call and I will enlighten you. I had seen it in college and was amazed. So I was determined to share that experience with Matt and since Cory and Sharon are currently staying with us, we invited them along. We should have known.
The night started out pretty normal. Matt and Cory got into a little tiff that ended with Matt owing Cory $5 because Hugh Jackman is NOT in Young Guns II. *Yes, we have VERY intellectual conversations at dinner. Cory was in Heaven, and Matt was tormented the rest of the evening. Kohls was FINALLY opened in Orem next to the Red Lobster. We stopped there to kill some time, and then we headed to the Covey Center for the Arts.
We found our seats, 2nd row, (I think next time we will get seats at the front of the balcony) and waited anxiously.
Being a Bailey, we were there 30 minutes prior to the show, so to kill some time, we played Hangman (appropriate for a Halloween show I think).
The show begins. It was as good as I remembered. My all-time favorite: Dem Bones. The first acts ended and we had an intermission. After the Sugarplum's Finale the witches of Salem came out and were pretty cool with pyrotechnics and everything. Then, my BIL and SIL luck started to kick in and suddenly, the fire alarm went off. I started to rack my brain. I was pretty sure that this wasn't part of the show. Suddenly an announcer comes over the loud speaker asking us to vacate the covey center until the firemen can clear the building. So we file outside.
It was FREEZING. It wasn't going to get our spirits down. BIL and SIL luck kicked in some more and it started to snow. Suddenly, we hear sirens. Down the road
we see the truck. Everyone starts to clap and cheer.
Cory was especially happy to see those flashing red light.
Soon, the cold took its toll and we started to get slap happy.
Cory and Sharon were trying to find any way to stay warm.
Finally, they let us back in. As we entered the auditorium, the place with filled with the Salem Witches Smoke. We found our seats yet again and waited for the performance to resume.
The show resumed and Bobo the Clown stole the show. After the performance we were headed out to the car and we saw the firefighters sitting on some benches, so Sharon grabbed one and got a picture with him. It was a great night. Good food. Good friends. Good show.
All in all . . .
BEST THRILLER EVER!!!

Sounds like you had a great time. Stephen wishes that we could get some snow. Do you still have it or is it all melted? No our car didn't get broken into. we were parked on the front row and pretty close the officer that was directing trafic. There was nothing worth taking in our car anyway unless they wanted to take the car its self. And that has happened before about a year ago.
We froze our ears off out there. We should have got our money back . . . Nah, it was great. It just added a little more excitement to the show. I can't hear very well now, though. I think the fire alarm was too loud.
It is the unexpected in life that makes it interesting. It is great to get something you didn't expect out of life. Looks like it was a great time. Life is so short, we need to get all we can when we can.
It was awesome! One of the best dates ever. Good food, lousy bet, found some shirts that i'd like but don't have money for, and a great show. The whole "go outside in the freezing cold and get snowed on while we have the fire department come and check it out" part was a little out of the blue, or i guess i should say black since it was dark outside. All in all, i'd do it again given the opportunity. :)
okay abby it doesn't usually take you this long to update.
I did notice that she held tight to the purse through it all. It could have been much worse...believe me!
I'd have to say that Cory and Sharon don't have all bad luck; after all, Cory is the one who won the bet! ;-)
