Halloween Spooktacular

So the thirteen days of Halloween died.  We made it through Monday with Scarecrow Tostadas.

But then I became deathly ill.  We went to Jenny's house the next day for some "worms and eyeballs" (spaghetti and meatballs).  But I just laid on the couch.  I was VERY sick.  The next day was still pretty bad and mom said she was starting to feel icky and suddenly we were too sick to be creative, but we managed to work through it and we had a great Halloween night.  Bailee put on her ruby slippers and went as Dorothy, while Jeremy was her trusty sidekick, the Scarecrow.

Once we arrived at the Trunk-or-Treat, we took our traditional family picture:

And the begging of candy began.  Jeremy got up at 2:30 in the morning with his costume ready to go trick-or-treating, but when it actually came time to go, he said he was too shy, so he stuck with Grandma and Grandpa handing out candy while Bailee went from trunk to trunk.  She got a HAUL.  Once Bailee was finished and Jeremy saw how much candy she got, he figured that it wouldn't be so bad, so Matt took Jeremy around.  Once everyone had filled their pumpkins, we had dinner at Mom's house.  Everyone was in good spirits.

We played Spoons and Hand and Foot.  Surprising, the kids went to bed fairly early probably because they had a sugar induced coma.  But that is what Halloween is all about - right?

It was a fun day to be had by all. The kids loved it and i never thought i would see Jeremy turn down the chance for free candy. Good food, good weather, good company.

It is always chaos when we are all together. The house was a diaster scene, but we sure did have some great times. That's what life's all about. New memories and old ones of when you guys were the kids. Halloween was a great treat for me this year.
