What a great weekend! Our little family had a blast and made some fun memories as well. Friday night, we check into our hotel and the very first thing the kids want to do is go swimming. Jeremy became the daredevil and jumped off the edge into the water (with his tube of course). Bailee couldn't be outdone, so she was right behind him.
Matt met us after he got off work and we headed to dinner. Bucca di Beppo. It was a tasty Italian restaurant with TONS of food.
The next morning we got up and had breakfast, took a quick swim and was back at the hotel for the first session of conference. All of the speakers were amazing the entire weekend. The one that hit home the most was Elder Wirthlin's "Come what may, and love it."
Everyday has sunshine and shadows. The Lord doesn't shield anyone from grief and sadness. Come what may and love it does not mean that we love the pain and sorrow. It is more the way we react to adversity which will be a major factor in how happy and successful we will be in life. He then lists four things that will help us through times of testing and trials:
1. Laugh.
2. Seek for the Eternal: he quotes D&C 121:7-8 "My son, peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and
thine afflictions shall be but a small moment; And then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes."
3. Understand the Principle of Compensation: Every tear we shed in grief will be returned a hundred fold with tears of joy.
4. Put our Trust in our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. The Lord will not leave us. If we trust in Him, He will lead us to everlasting life.
I love conference. The messages seem to be tailored specifically for me. I am grateful that I have the opportunity to listen and witness the teachings and the love the brethren have for each of us. I am grateful to be a member of the Church. I am grateful for my testimony and the knowledge I have that my family will be together forever. I hope you all had a great weekend and that you went away feeling uplifted and edified.

It was an uplifting time to be had. It was very nice to be able to spend time with my family all weekend with no where else to be. I particularly like Pres. Irings talk in the Priesthood session about how The Lord will bear you up in your trials and afflictions. The whole conference was a reminder to put our trust in The Lord and he'll never leave us alone.
I'm glad you had a great time. I didn't hear a whole lot. I even missed the part where they said temple in kansas city area. rumer is that it will be in Lenexa KS, about 40 min from us. I think Louis needs to email our bishop in SLC and see what he says sence he is the one who over sees all the temples being built.
Glad you all had a great time and I wish that we could have been there.
It was definitely a time to remember. I couldn't get over how much the kids had grown in just the 6 months since April conference. They were all much more daring in the water than before. I agree that the whole conference was one of lifting, reminding and loving assurances that Jesus Christ will take care of his own if we will be obedient. I was so rejuvinated. I hope I can keep the thoughts and spirit with me for awhile. I too love conference. Even the rain was nice.
It was AWESOME!!! that's all I can say.
Love the pictures of you and Matt. You guys look perfect together.
That looks like so much fun. I really need to go their to see it in person. Nevertheless, it was truly amazing experience!
P.S. We need to talk! Where you findin all the cutsies? Huh?
