Christmas Pageant

This year, we decided to put the kids in the Nebo Children's Choir.  They have loved going and singing.  This weekend the town had their annual Christmas Pageant and the kids were going to perform.  But first, we had to pay a visit to Santa.


Then we dropped the kids off at the auditorium for a 2pm curtain call.  They had back to back performances at 3 and 4.  They did great!
 
They had two numbers.  The first one, they were carolers.

And the second number, they were angels in the Nativity Story.


They were so proud of themselves afterward.  They even sang their songs for the Bishop the next day at tithing settlement.  Both Matt and I were proud parents.

Thanksgiving 2009

It was a great holiday.  We started off the day watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.  Jimmy Fallon was the best performer.  Then we got ready for the feast.

Afterwards, I had a lot of games planned.  We started with Thanksgiving Bingo (all the kids got a harmonica), then we did the Trivia in the Thanksgiving Packet; then we headed over to the Thanksgiving Tree where the kids would say something they were thankful for and then put a leaf up on the tree.



They all had SO much to be thankful for.  It ranged from laughter to toys to bunk beds to school to work to family. 


After dessert and a few naps, we broke out the candy bars for the candy bar game.  While I was watching the parade, I wrapped giant candy bars in layers and layers of newspaper.  The game consists of everyone in a circle with a pair of dice.  Each person takes a turn rolling the dice and if you roll double you put on the oven mitts and grab some forks and try to open the candy bars (we didn't make the kids wear the oven mitts).  I think the adults had more fun than the kids.









After our sugar comas from all the candy bars, the kids and the men went to sleep and the women headed up to toys r us.  It was going to be a long day of black friday shopping.  Thankfully our bellies were full of Turkey and mashed potatoes and homemade stuffing.

A Thanksgiving Tradition

One of my favorite things we do each thanksgiving is make stuffing from scratch.  We pull apart bread and let it dry out and chop onions and sauté.  Of course, my job is mostly just the bread.  Jenny and mom did the rest.  But it is fun and I enjoy sitting around chatting and continuing a tradition.

Primary Program

Sunday, the kids had their Primary program.  It was great.  Both of the kids sang their little hearts out.  Sunday morning we went and watched Tyler's primary program and then, the kids got ready for their big moments.


They did so great!!  Jeremy bore his testimony about the Savior, and Bailee spoke about some her ancestors.  Cory and Sharon came down with Cindy and we all celebrated.

Arrrgh - Pirate Island Pizza

Saturday, Sharon had a birthday party for Sam.  The kids had fun getting their faces painted and popping balloons.  After the party, we headed up to provo to do some shopping and eat dinner at Pirate Island Pizza.  The kids had fun while we waited to be seated.

Unfortunately, I put my camera in my purse and forgot about it the rest of the night.  It was pretty decent pizza.  We ordered "the Kraken" it was HUGE and we could put whatever toppings on it that we wanted.  The theme of the restaurant was fun.  Every few minutes the canons would go off.  It was a great night, and Sam was in Heaven when the servers came over clapping and singing happy birthday to him.

New Moon

Friday we went to see New Moon.  We decided to go to the earlier show so Dad could watch the kids and mom could get to bed at a decent hour (since she gets up at 1:30 to work every morning).  But we still had a blast.  My company made t-shirts for the theater to sell so I figured I would have them make a few extra for us.


It was a great movie, and the best part was the two minute drive back home.  I like having a theater just down the street.

The Bailey's Are Thankful

OK, after much anticipation, may I present the 2009 Thanksgiving Tablecloth:

The Bailey's sure do have a lot to be thankful for, let's go down the list, starting with my Dad:

First thing that came out of his mouth when we asked him what he was thanksful for was: "My Eternal Companion."
Then my Mom:

After re-reading President Uchtdorf's Conference talk on God's Love, she decided that she was most grateful for love.
Then Louis:

He was most grateful for his eternal companion as well, not to mention all his little rug rats with their cute nicknames.
Next we have Sheridy:

She is most grateful for  the capability to stay connected with all her family.  Hey, where would we be without phones and internet right?
Next up, McKenzie:

Looks like she is most grateful for her home, her family, and for being 7 years old.
Stephen is next:

Ever since he could talk, he has always said that he wanted a big red barn, now I think that is what he is thankful for, don't you?
Little Allison's square comes next:

I'll let you decide what she is grateful for.
And of course Baby Bekah:

Those are some pudgy little hands, I love it.
Now here's my sweethearts:

Matt has caught the spirit of Elijah and he is most thankful for Family History.
Then me of course:

You all know why I'm grateful for temples.
Who can guess what Jeremy is grateful for:

Yup, horses.  I think he did a great job coloring that.
Bailee couldn't decide on just one, but she finally decided on:

Jesus.  She was most grateful for the baby Jesus.
Up next, Ray:

Looks almost like the title of liberty, Ray's most grateful for God, his family, and his freedom.
Linsey's grateful for:

Ray's job, her family, and her home.  Cute little stick figures Lins.

Kyle of course is grateful for:

his family as well, only his is a bit more abstract.

After you see her sitting on the floor with her pebbles hair clapping her hands to some music, you'll be grateful for her hands too.

But like they say, last the best of all the game.  Who isn't thankful for our knowledge of God's Plan for us?

If you know Zoey, you know she is grateful for:

baby dolls.  She loves tucking them in for naps and scolding them.
So as you can see, there is so so much to be thankful for.  I kneel down every day and thank my Heavenly Father for all that He has seen fit to bless me with.  I love this time of year, and I love that my entire family took some time to show what they were grateful for.  Happy Thanksgiving!!!
