Resurrection Egg Hunt

For family home evening last night, we decided to take a break from the Articles of Faith and do a special Easter FHE.  We decided to have a resurrection Easter egg hunt.  100_1915The kids had a ball running all over the yard looking for the eggs.  Once we gathered them all up, we read the scriptures.  Jeremy and Bailee were really getting into, and when we got to part where the Jews put a crown of thorns on Jesus head, both of them were in tears.  They told us that they didn't like the bad people who were hurting Jesus.  We comforted them and said that the best part is the end, when we got to the last scripture we told the kids that Jesus will live forever.  That made their night a little better.  After we talked about the events leading up to Christ's resurrection, we quizzed them and surprisingly, they remembered most everything we talked about so we gave them a little baggie of chocolates.  It was great.

They're a sharp bunch. They remembered names and events and everything. They really were upset when we talked about Jesus being crucified, but his being resurrected made it all better.

That is so cool. It is amazing what a kid learns and remembers. Kids surprise you sometimes when you least expect it.

The effort you are putting forth will be well worth when your children are older and you have already set the FHE precident. This was a really neat one.

That is great. It sounds like it went well and that the kids learned a lot and had a good time.
