Wet and Wild Weekend

OK, it wasn't really wild, but it was definitely was wet.  Matt and I were up at the crack of dawn to head up to the Saturday Morning Session of General Conference.  The kids slept over at Jenny's so we didn't have to worry about getting them up and dressed, and my parents picked us up at 7am sharp.  Yes it was snowing, but that didn't get our spirits down.  See how happy my dad is:

It was so cold, I had to take pictures of the flowers, just so I would know that it really is spring (notice the snow):

We finally made it inside and got nice and cozy:

It was an amazing conference and it seemed liked all the talks were written specifically for me.  For months now, Jenny has been proclaiming that 5Guys Burgers and Fries are the best burgers on the entire planet.  Being an In-n-Out lover, I just couldn't stand for it.  So after conference, we decided to put it to the test:

Well, I can officially say that 5 Guys burger are NOT the best burgers.  Their fries are super tasty and I would say they are better than In-n-Out's fries, but their burgers don't even compare to the deliciousness that is In-N-Out burger.  Sorry Jenny.  Plus they were incredibly over-priced.  It was $18 for Matt and I alone.  Yikes!!!  In-n-Out beats 5 Guys hands down.
So after lunch, we checked into our hotel and shortly thereafter, the kids showed up ready for a conference weekend tradition:

They had a blast:

After our bi-annual swim, we got ready for Ladies Night at deseret book while the men headed to the Priesthood session.  They had us wait outside (and it was a little chilly) for the giveaway, but the kids managed just fine:

After the Priesthood session, Matt and I took all the little kiddies home.  Since Jenny watched our kids while we went to the Saturday session, we took their kids so they could go to the Sunday session.  It was a great weekend and I love our little tradition.

One of the best weekends ever! I'm very glad that we went. I told Abby last week that i needed some uplifting and this conference did the trick. It was a blast and the kids had a great time. I would like to agree with Abby on 5 Guys burgers and would like to add that i like In-N-Out burgers fries better.

I'm great you had a great time. The only thing that we come close to seeing in person will the the MOTab. They will be here in KC I think June 25 and so we are going to see that. You got a free concert, we have to pay for ours. The stake pres. said to use it as a missionary tool, so I'm gonna see if Bertha will go with us.

I've wondered about the 5 Guys Burgers place. I still think sometime I will have to give it a try.
Conference was great, wasn't it! I just wish that one of these conference weekends Cory didn't have drill so that he could sit down and enjoy it with me.
Glad you had fun.

sounds like you had fun, swimming and doing the Ladies night thing. I just wish I could have been there. My kids need to know what it is like to swim in a swimming pool. Oh well two weeks and they can experience it right. Anyway conference really was great and always a spiritual uplift.
