Day 8 - Family Home Evening

When I was growing up, we probably only had family home evening a handful of times.  Once I had children, I decided to make a goal to have FHE every week.  Let me tell you, it has been SO much fun!!  You hear it in conference ALL the time - teach your children the Gospel.  It is the most important thing you can do.  And our family has been so blessed because of family home evening.  We have had lessons on prayer:

articles of faith:

running from sin:

lots of service:

choosing the right:

we've made crafts:

gone to Temple open houses:

reenacted the stripling warriors:

had lessons up the canyon:

and so much more.  I look forward to FHE every week.  We've played games, read scriptures, gone on treasure hunts, made crafts, seen temples, the list goes on and on.  The possibilities are endless and so rewarding.  It truly is the best thing you can do for family and I am so glad that we have incorporated in our family's schedule.  I am grateful for my family and I value every minute we get to spend together.

Our kids have come to expect it every week and even come up with their own lessons and ideas from time to time. I'm with Abby growing up. I can only remember maybe a couple of times that we had it. It doesn't always go very well, but it's always worth it. I'm glad that Abby kind of spear heads the projects, because if it were up to me, I don't think we'd have near as good of ones.

I'm glad that you guys are good that doing it every week. That is one of our weeknesses, evern though the kids love it we either forget or are just to tired to and want to put them in bed. I guess now would be a good time to try and start now that the sun is shinning longer and they have a hard time going to bed. Thanks for being such a great example to us all.

That is good. I have tried to do family home evening and we need to make it a priority in our family. It will be alot easier since Ray will be on dayshift and he could help out. Hopefully next week we will get it right. Thanks for being a good example to me.

They have definitely been creative and lots of fun. I think the internet really helps in that regard. I had no such thing, maybe I would have been better with that kind of help with the creativity part, who knows. Anyway I am glad that the next generation is trying harder than I did. Luckily for me, you all turned out great anyway.

Ammon is getting where he wants to be in charge every week. He plays the same game. It's cute. We're definitely not as creative as you are when it comes to FHE, but we do hold FHE every week. The boys do like it.

I have started doing FHE every week. It's really good. Atleast Tyler gets it. Zoey has a hard time, but it's still fun and I like putting it together!
