The weather is getting warmer and the days are getting longer, and when that happens my mind always turns back to those innocent summer nights of playing night games with all my cousins. It was always so much fun. In regards to age, I was right in the middle of everyone, so I usually had a fair shot at winning. I was a bit of a tomboy and my favorite place to hide was always the chestnut tree right next to the porch. Grandpa Bailey would sit on one of his metal, green porch chairs and gesture to me when I had climbed high enough that no one could see me. I would hide on my perch and watch the rest of cousins and siblings slowly get picked off one by one. Then, I would quietly climb down and hide in a location that had previously been searched. It was so much fun. I looked out the window tonight and saw my children playing tag with Tyler and Zoey and I smiled to myself and I started to picture a few years down the road and all the cousins running and hiding playing all different kinds of night games. Memories that come full circle are the best traditions you can pass down to your children.

I hope you don't put your kids to bed early this summer so that they can have the chance to do that while we are there. I remeber last year your kids were in bed by 7:30 which is fine for the school year. I hope you let your kids stay up later while we are there so that they can play. (-with th weather you having I hope that it is warm so that they can stay outside to play-) See you in a few weeks.
I loved watching the night games also. Sometimes the whole neighborhood would come over. It was great fun for everyone. It will be fun for me to be the grandma sitting on the porch when the grandkids start playing night games.
That was pretty smart of you to not get caught in your hiding place, but to move out. Summer nights will be upon shortly, and then gone not long after they arrive. We'll have a good summer with lots of running around. Love you babe.
Kick the Can was always one of my favorites. I have great memories of playing night games. Something I hope to pass on to my children, too.
I loved playing nightgames. It was always a blast! You know you're never too old to play night games. We should do it one night when the kids are asleep! Oh it would be so much fun!
