Day 10 - Grandma Garrett

When I was growing up, my Grandma Garrett was one of my best friends.  We would have sleep overs and stay up late drinking Tab and watching the love boat.  Whenever we would play board games, she would always let me win.  She was a super Grandma:

I would sit on the top of the fridge and watch her cook dinner.  We would make modge podge crafts to take home and give to my mom.  She would let me play with all the stuff in her Japanese Jewelry box.  We would spend hours looking at pictures of her clogging all over the world with my Grandpa.  I would listen to her stories and picture myself over in Japan dancing with my future husband.  We would sit and watch Jeopardy while we ate dinner at 4:30 PM (hey they were grandparents).  She always had some kind of dessert whenever I would sleep over: ice cream, German chocolate cake (her favorite) or cookies.  For lunch, she would toast a "Grandma Sandwich" and we would plan our next sleep over.

Those were the best times.  I miss my Grandma so much, but because of some extremely spiritual experiences I have had, I know that she is always there for me even on the other side.  I love you Grandma.

I love grandma. She too was my best friend. I loved her grandma sandwiches and the tang spiked with diet pepsi or Tab. I also loved the magic shell she would put on our ice cream. She would put me in the sink and I would watch her cook.
I loved her so much. What a good grandma we had.

what a nice way to get to know a grandma I never had the chance to meet.

I think that she's where Abby got her great love of traveling. She still makes "Grandma Sandwiches" today for the Jeremy and Bailee to enjoy. I'm glad that you can still be close to her after all these years.

My mother was a very special person. She was my best friend too. It was her dumplings that I loved the most. That's why I'm trying to get Jenny to make some and see if they taste like hers. I miss her every day and find myself talking to her about things all the time or thinking what would my mom do. I love her very much and will be happy to see her again some day.

I have great memories of my grandma. Playing cards, cooking with her, etc. It's great you are writing them all down.

Grandma was the best! She was my best friend too. She always let me win at the games. Like when I was in high school I found out the REAL way to play checkers and that I wasn't as good as I thought I was. I had my own room at grandmas. It was the rose room. I remember the magic shell icecream and the tang spiked with tab. Also the coloring contests and grandpa helping me win cards. I am always reminded of grandma cause I have the privilege of living in her house. I love her so much!
