Conference weekend has become a sweet tradition for my little family. We LOVE loading up in the car and heading to Salt Lake to hear from our Prophet and Apostles. It is one of the things that I look forward to the most. So here is a list of reasons why Conference up in Salt Lake totally rocks.
1. The Grounds: There are FLOWERS everywhere, MUSIC is constantly playing, everything is CLEAN, and the people there are so HAPPY.
2. The Spirit: Even my kids notice the Spirit that is on Temple Square during conference. They are reverent and respectful. They love walking around the outside of the Salt Lake Temple and looking at the reflection pond.
3. The Peace: Even though there are THOUSANDS of Saints on Temple Square and in the Conference Center, there are moments of simple, pure peace. At Conference, I have experienced moments of clarity and direction, and the knowledge that I am on the right path. Just being in the presence of our Prophet makes me tear up and my heart burns within me, and I know that this church is true.
4. The Fun: There is a lot of fun to be had the entire weekend. Of course, there are the actual sessions to attend. Going out to lunch after being spiritually fed is fun. Ladies night at Deseret Book, its always fun to get free stuff. Going out to dinner after the Priesthood Session and talking about the counsel and direction they were given. Going swimming in the hotel. Walking around the church grounds smelling the crisp fall air and taking pictures.
5. The Family: I love that I am able to take my family up to Salt Lake. Even though my kids aren't able to attend any of the sessions of conference, I love being there with them. I love their awe and curiosity as we walk around the church grounds. I love when they feel the spirit and ask questions about things they see or feel.
6. The Tradition: I'm a big fan of tradition. The kids are even catching on. As I was packing her bag last night, Bailee came out holding her swimming suit and said, "Don't forget mom, we ALWAYS have to go swimming when we stay in a hotel." I love that they have something to count on.
General Conference is one of the best times of the year. I am so grateful that I am able to listen to my Prophet and Apostles. Somehow, I always leave feeling buoyed up for the next six months. It truly is a blessing.

I say ditto to everything you said. I love conference time. Even if it rains it is wonderful. This year all of us Utah Bailey's will be together for conference. It will be nice. I do miss you Kansas City Bailey's though.
The KC Bailey's will miss being there too. Eventually we will all be together again. Have a great time.
Even though I don't have the tradition of going to conference, I still love to sit and watch or listen every six months.
I found an opportunity for family history research at conference this year. The only problem was when I went to the history building, they had just locked the doors five minutes before I got there. We'll have to catch them another time.
