Saturday I got to go up to the Conference Center to listen to the General Relief Society broadcast. The Stake President (thanks again daddy-o) charted three busses to take us up to Salt Lake and reserved rooms in the Lion House for dinner beforehand.
Dinner at the Lion House was delicious.
After, we still had some time, so we wandered around soaking up the atmosphere.
Finally it was time to enter the conference center. We were on the Terrace on the third row. It was awesome.
The messages we all about charity and the purpose of the Relief Society. Some of the thoughts that struck me, Relief Society helps women increase their faith, strengthen their families, and provide relief to other, we just need to SEEK OUT those in need. We all have gaps in our lives and as we comfort the weary and strengthen the weak, our gaps are filled with the love and charity of the Savior. If we let the love of the Lord dwell in our hearts, we can accomplish anything.
As we were leaving the conference center dusk was upon us. It was a beautiful night.
We hopped on our bus and headed for home.
The next day at church, we learned about the disaster down by the sea of Cortez. A lady in our ward was asking for donations of clothing. We could just drop them off at her house because she was headed down to Mexico next week. So for FHE, we had a lesson about when Brigham Young called for the Saints in Salt Lake to immediately leave to rescue the handcart companies that were stranded in the snow. Then we asked them if they would be willing to help people who are in need today. So we headed downstairs, went through the clothes and bagged up some donations. We headed up the Canyon to drop off what we had.
Bailee was a little distraught at first when we were going through her clothes, but after she realized that we weren't donating ALL her clothes, she was excited to help.
After our pit stop, we headed further up the canyon to look at the pretty fall leaves. If you haven't been, I encourage you to go now, they are gorgeous. It was a great weekend and I am glad that we were able to contribute, even if it was just a little.

Those are all very nice pictures. I went to the meeting at the church as well. Patsy I love the dress that you are wearing it looks great on you.
The kids were pretty excited to help a little bit in any way that they could. At one point Bailee thought that we were going to take the cloths to the people in Mexico ourselves. She kept saying that it was too far and she didn't want to go.
The conference was great. There was such a great spirit there and and hearing all the women begin singing at once was so touching it made me cry. I love the picture with the flowers. I need a copy of that one.
I love all your FHE ideas. I'm going to copy all of them.
