This weekend was amazing. The speakers bore testimony to my soul.
We left for Salt Lake Friday night. The first thing the kids wanted to do was - you guessed it, go swimming.
Saturday morning, mom, dad, Jenny, Justin, Linsey, and Ray all headed to the morning session of conference. To keep the kids entertained and more involved in conference, I made some bingo cards. It worked for about an hour.
After that, each word that came out of the speakers mouth they would jump up and want another candy corn. It was a great session. Elder Bednar was my favorite of the entire conference. I felt in my heart that I needed to be more diligent and concerned at home. I needed to hold better family home evenings, constant scripture study and prayer. I want my kids to know that I have a testimony and that our home is a place for them to learn of God and grow their own testimony. One thing that stuck out to me was when he was talking about the wheat field painting and that each prayer, scripture, and family home evening is a brush stroke on our souls. By the time I am done, I want my children to have the most beautiful souls that are filled with thousands of strokes of gospel principles. After the two Saturday sessions, the women and men split up and headed to ladies night.
We went to the deseret book on 72nd south. It wasn't as busy as the downtown store. We got our plaque and free picture then headed to dinner. We ate at TGI Friday's on Foothill. The food was good but our server was horrible.
The next morning we packed up the cars, watched the first session of conference and then headed over to the Joseph Smith building to wait for the last session of conference. It was a rainy weekend, but we still managed to get some good pictures.
We headed over to conference. It was an AMAZING session. Elder Holland was amazing. As he testified of the Book of Mormon, I couldn't stop crying. It was excellent. The time seemed to fly by and before I knew it, we were headed for home. It was a great weekend and I am truly blessed to able to attend.

What a great tradition! I think that was one of my favorite talks as well, Elder Bednar seems to speak to me quite frequently.
Yep, I would have to say that I loved elder Bednar as well. I also liked Elder whats his name. The one that spoke after him.
I loved that his experiences holding family prayer, scripture study, and FHE were not perfect, either. I would like to try harder to be more diligent at home as well.
I loved Elder Scott's talk and Elder Uchtdorf and Elder Eyring and . . .
What a great conference and weekend.
I too was impressed with Elder Holland's fervent testimony of the book of Mormon. I also liked Elder Scott's on becoming better at hearing and acting on the impressions that come from the Holyi Ghost, Bednar's of course and Elder Christropherson's moral compass. We were truly given much to think about. WE had a great time together and built another memory to put with all the other ones we have of family time together.
Conference was great as usual and I to found comfort in knowing that Elder Bednar's FHE's were crazy. I am going to try harder to get organized and make my home a place of refuge and comfort.
Pres. Uchtdorf's talk during the priesthood session was my favorite talk. He spoke of hard work, perserverance, and education. Those are some of the things that our family is still striving for and probably will continue to for the rest of our lives. It was great uplift.
