Fall of Festivities #11

DISNEYLAND DAY ONE

We woke up from Buffalo Bills at 4:30 and headed on the road.  As we were driving down the freeway, I looked over and saw the moon with some clouds around it making it look REALLY creepy, so I tried to take a picture, but it didn’t work.

We pulled into Anaheim around 8:30 and we went to check-in to our hotel.  Everywhere was decked out for Halloween.

Then we headed over to the main gates to get our tickets.  Linsey and Ray were already in line waiting.

Then we headed through the gates and on to our first ride every trip:  Pirates

Then we hurried over to Splash Mountain

And while we went on Splash Mountain, Megan went on Winnie the Pooh (several times)

Matt and Jeremy darted over to Indiana Jones while I took Megan on Winnie the Pooh so Linsey and Ray could go down Splash.  After everyone splashed down Chickapin hill, we decided to go on Haunted Mansion Holiday.

Matt and Jeremy met us at the Haunted Mansion.  After our ride in our doom buggies, all the other brave ones wanted to go on Indiana Jones, so Me, Mom and Dad sat out with the little ones:

Then, we headed over to Big Thunder Mountain:

So after our ride we switched and Matt, Dad, and I took Megan and waited at Main Street for the others.

After we all met up at Main Street, we headed over to California Adventure:

We headed over to Soarin’.  It was around lunchtime and the kids were tired from such an early start to the day.  Jeremy was particularly grumpy.  I was just trying to give him a little kiss:

Mom and Dad went to get our World of Color Picnic meals.  Once we were off the ride we switched and snacked on our lunch.  After everyone had a chance to ride, we headed for the hotel for a nap.  Our room wasn’t ready yet, so we crashed at Linsey’s hotel while Matt did some homework.
After our break we headed back to California Adventure.  Matt, Dad, and I saved places for the parade while the kids went to Playhouse Disney:

After the show was over, they came over to our place and waited for the parade:

Grandma had stopped off and bought the kids suckers to occupy them while they waited.  Megan was REALLY enjoying her sucker:

Suddenly, as she was walking toward Grandma, she tripped and her sucker shatter into a hundred tiny pieces on the ground.  She was devastated:

Mom gave me some cash and a I darted to the closest store and bought some more suckers and all was right with the world again:

And then we continued to wait for the parade:

And then the parade finally began:

They added the new characters from Toy Story 3.  It was really cute.  I love this parade.
It was around 5:30 and everyone was pretty hungry so we headed over to Taste pilots for some tasty burgers.  After dinner we headed to Bugs Land and Tower of Terror:

There was NO WAY Linsey’s kids were riding this, so we went with Mom and Dad and then switched and watched Linsey’s kids play around Bug’s Land.
Scary Tower of Terror:

Mom and Dad . . . not so much:

So the sun was finally down when we got off the ride:

When Linsey and Ray met up with us, we headed over to World of Color.  This show was awesome.  We got my Dad a Guest Assistance Card so they could sit on the benches and we would stand behind them.  There were still 40 minutes until the show started, so we parked it on the concrete:

This show is 30 minutes long and it is AWESOME!!  I still haven’t figured out my camera so I didn’t get that many shots of the show but you can see it on youtube (although it doesn’t do it justice).

After the show, the parks were closed (8:30) so we headed back to the hotel for a nice long night’s sleep.

Oh man was it a fun day, and we were all wasted tired by the end of the day. Both of the kids fell asleep during the World of Color show and they were cranky getting them back to the hotel room. The atmosphere's there are the best and our little family really enjoyed themselves a lot. Looking forward to day 2

That was such a fun day, mostly because I was with my family including my hubby for a change. He was great.

oh, what a good first day we had at Disneyland. The world of color show was awesome in person. Rachel even enjoyed it (after we put the earmuffs on her). What a fun day.
