Another Love List

It is the month of love, so I figured I would write some reasons why I love my bosses:
1.  Family is First:  with them.  No matter what it is, they understand, they don't give me a hard time, and they always make sure that I am putting the needs of my two little ones before everything else.
2.  They are Bishops: and I have the Spirit here in the office.  If I have a question about the gospel, they are there with answers.  If I need to take a break and read my scriptures, I don't get ridiculed, and they don't get after me for not doing work.
3. They are generous: with everything.  They gave me a bonus to spend while I am on vacation.  They gave to the relay for life.  They donate to sub-for-Santa.  They help the community.  They will let me use their printer for YW handouts or activities.  They bought pies from the YW in my ward (not their own).  They will give me anything I need without question or hesitation.
4.  They don't make me feel guilty: when I have to leave in the middle of the day for a YW meeting, or a class party, or a fieldtrip, or a doctors appointment.  They allow me to be a mother even though I work.
5.  The let me be me: I am free to speak my mind, and be myself.  I am comfortable and secure with who I am when I am around them.  They have never made me feel small or less of a person.
6.  We are friends:  we joke and laugh and help each other out.  We are comfortable around each other, they offer to watch my kids, and always ask questions about my little family.  They make sure we are all doing OK.
7. We can talk:  about things that don't have to do with work.  We talk about the church, their callings, my calling, family, kids, crazy people, anything.
8.  I can come and go:  pretty much anytime I want.  I have the liberty to run home and read my kid a story, or stop in and say hi when I am out running errands.  My kids don't feel completely abandoned and I still feel connected to them during the day.
9.  They go out of their way to make me feel better: even I'm not having a bad day they always ask if things are good, how I'm doing.  And if I am having a bad day they tell me to go take a break, or bring me some candy.  It's great.
10. Their lives are built around service: they live to serve other people and a lot of times I am the recipient of that.  It wasn't a big deal for Travis to baby-sit my kids last night because that is the kind of person he is.  All of them have their priorities in line and have the desire to bless the lives of the people around them.

I wasn't excited when I found out that my good friend Michelle was quitting - leaving me the only female in the office, but I am grateful for these awesome men who know who they are, where they came from, and how to get to where they want to be.  It is one of my greatest blessings and I love them all so much.

Like i've said before: i'm grateful that Abby works where she does and with whom she does. They are great bosses who are good to our family.

Wouldn't it be nice if everyone had bosses like that. They really are great examples to all of us.

Working is so much easier when the boss understands you have a life outside of work that needs your attention sometimes. You are certainly lucky, but then you deserve it too.
