NFR - Vegas

For my dad's birthday this year (May 1) we bought him tickets to the National Finals Rodeo down in Las Vegas.  Mom got a hotel in the Excalibur and we loaded up the Explorer and headed down the Las Vegas on Sunday.  It was a LONG trip.  But we made it just fine.  The kids were so excited to stay in a "castle".  Our room was facing the strip and the kids LOVED looking out at the planes taking off.

Monday morning, we got up, had breakfast at Denny's, and then headed to Cowboy Christmas.  This is one time where my Dad and Matt actually take longer shopping than myself and mom.

Dodge had a setup in the corner of the convention center and Matt is mysteriously pulled to this:

The rest of the day, Matt's eyes kept wandering back to that car.  Mom and I found some "interesting" Christmas gifts for the boys.  That night, when the boys went to the rodeo, the girls set off to explore.  We rode the monorail from MGM to Bally's.  We looked through the forum shops.  I thought little Bailee's legs would get tired, but it was mom who was saying she needed a rest.  So we went to my favorite place in Vegas.  Whenever I think about Vegas, this is what I think about.  This is MY Vegas:

I don't gamble and I'm not really a fan of the strips and all the neon, but I absolutely LOVE the Bellagio.  Matt and I would come down to Vegas all the time when we were in school and would just hang out at the Bellagio.  We would go to the art gallery and see the garden room, then head outside and take in a few water shows.  It brought back some really good memories.

The next day, we headed east to the Las Vegas Temple.  Jeremy and Bailee were so excited to see the Golden Moroni.  The grounds were beautiful, but it was pretty windy, so we didn't linger.

Later, we split up and the girls did some Christmas Shopping while the men went to Cowboy Christmas.  Jeremy even got to ride a sheep.  He was quite proud of himself.  That night, when the men went to the rodeo yet again, we headed to a movie.  Which one you ask?  Twilight.  Bailee was cute.  She kept saying, "I like the good vampire, but I want to close my eyes when they kiss."  The next morning we got up, loaded the car, and headed home.  It was a fun trip, but I am glad to be home.

I love Las Vegas! It has a feeling about it that you can't get anywhere else, and i'm not talking about the bad Stuff. There's some really great places to go on the strip that shout class, The Bellagio is just one of them. Although i must admit that Abby visited that one with out me so i didn't get to see it this trip. Jeremy had a ball at the rodeo and he even got to participate in a little rodeo himself. That's a story for another time that needs to be told in person. :) It was a great trip

So this is the reason you haven't updated your blog in awhile, I was starting to think that you were sick again. I can't wait until we can start doing stuff like that again. I think the only time we went was when Kenzie was a baby, but it was still fun. I'm glad that you all had a great time.

Glad you had fun, but glad you're back. Cowboy Christmas, huh? I don't think you could get Cory to go in there.

A great time was had by all. Even though I had blisters on my feet, I still thought the Bellagio water show was awesome and was glad to see it. It was nice to get away and just a good time.

Brandon sure had fun with Jeremy the other night. He has never played with a lasso before. I will have to look for one for Brandon.
