It was a great Christmas morning. Jeremy was up at 5:00 but we tortured him and told him he had to go back to sleep until Bailee woke up. So around 7, Jeremy couldn't wait any longer and went in and woke up Bailee. They were both very excited. I was so excited I forgot to take pictures. So Jeremy got a child's video camera, gun, knife, chaps, an Ironman doll, and a truck, trailer and rodeo figures. He loves his Ironman doll. He sleeps with it every night, and we puts his chaps on, grabs his stick horse and gallops around the basement shooting renegades.
Bailee got Pinky Pie Ponies, Princess Dolls, and Roller skates. When she opened the box that had the roller skates she began to squeal. The rest of the day, she had those skates on. Now she is a pro and hardly ever falls down. This year the kids were so excited to watch everyone open the presents that they bought for them. Jeremy bought Matt a Matchbox car, I got a box of envelopes ("Ya know mom, because you mail stuff a lot") Bailee got a doll, Mom also got a box of envelopes and Dad got a flashlight. For Bailee's gifts, Matt got a tape measure, I got some headbands, Jeremy got an Ironman car, Mom got a figurine, and Dad got ear warmers. They were quite proud of themselves and I loved the looks on their faces when one of us would open their special hand-picked present. Later, we went over to mom's and opened our Christmas there.
Matt and Jeremy both got Nerf guns that hold 20 darts. They would tip over the furniture and barricade themselves and shoot and fight each other.
Jeremy got some really nice walkie-talkies. Mom got me an iPod dock and stereo which is awesome. Bailee got more pinkie pie ponies and princess dolls, and Matt got a shop vac. It was a great Christmas. Later that day, Matt and I are downstairs relaxing when we hear Jeremy screaming. Matt runs upstairs to find Jeremy digging through the rag drawer with a bloody hand. He was trying to open one of his Christmas presents and the knife he was using sliced off the top of his middle finger on his left hand. After Matt saw how bad it was we loaded him up in the explorer and headed to the emergency room. I called mom on the way and told her to go over and pick up Bailee because we left her there and she was crying because she was scared for her brother. At the ER Jeremy
wouldn't let the doctor touch his finger let alone stitch it up, so the Doc convinced Jeremy to let him glue the wound closed. After a couple hours we were home and eating dinner over at moms. Jeremy leans over and tells Matt that he wants to do a toast. So we all lift up our glasses and Jeremy proclaims: "TO THE ER!!!" We all cheer and clank glasses. We finish dinner, play some games, and head home for a quiet Christmas night. The kids loved all their gifts, and the magic was truly alive.

It was a great Christmas. Very memorable. it got a little scary at times, but we pulled through it okay. Jeremy was a real trooper. on the way home from the hospital, i asked him if he wanted to go home and rest. He shook his head and said that we wanted to go home and play with his toys. Not even blood could pull him away from the sheer joy of Christmas. At least he didn't shoot his eye out. :) Bailee was soo cute with all of her stuff. they were both so excited.
Christmas was indeed memorable. We have a great family and we do enjoy each other a lot. That's what makes Christmas for me.
I missed it. Must have been terrible. Poor kid.
Please do expound.
Boy sounds like you all had a great time!!! And one that you'll never forget just because of the trip to the ER.
It must be a tradition in the Morrill family, the ER thing. I just hope we don't get a turn.
