My Mom is at the Mercy of a Communist!

I know that my mother won't blog about this so I thought that I would give it a shot.  So my mother is at the mercy of a communist.  A couple of weeks ago Bath and Body works we were out Christmas shopping.  We saw that Bath and Body was having a sale so we popped in to pick up Mom's favorite scent:    Brown Sugar and Fig (*I think it smells weird).  Upon entering the store, we see that they are no longer stocking the lotion.  Needless to say she was a little perturbed.  She asked a sales associate where it was and the following conversation ensues:
"Excuse me, I was wondering when there would be more brown sugar and fig lotion stocked."Brown sugar and fig
"Oh, I'm sorry, we have stopped stocking that and we may or may not get more next year.  You're like the 5th person that has asked me that today.  It was a really popular lotion."
"Well, if it was so popular, why did they stop making it?"
"You know, I am not sure, but other people tell me that this vanilla lotion smells just like it."
My mother has the same opinion as me when when it comes to "vanilla" scents - NASTY.  So she grudgingly buys some other scent.  I told her not to get too attached to it, because we are the mercy of the Bath and Body Corporation.  We have to rely on them to tell us what we can and cannot smell like.  I was just glad that they had the apple in stock.  Hopefully that won't get so popular that CEO's will feel the need to discontinue it.

It's the law of Supply and Demand. I know, economic mumbo gumbo, but if the Demand is low, then Supply becomes scarce. there may have been a few people who were very loyal to it, but if it's not enough on the larger scale, then they cut it. sorry, it's the "invisible hand" at work. You can google it if you don't know what it means. :)

Yes, I was pretty upset by this. Just one of those things that you have no control over but wished you did. Maybe another scent will catch my fancy.

Patsy you must be just like my mom, you find something that you like and the next thing you know they don't make it anymore. And then it takes you another 5 years to find something similar to it and then they discontinue it. Well either way I hope that you guys had a great time.

They are really good about doing that. I have missed out on a couple of different ones they "just don't have anymore." I am as befuddled as you are.
