Month ago I took Jeremy in to see the Doctor and that particular doctor looked at him and told me that there was nothing wrong with him. He said that I need to stop being overprotective and only bring them in when they are on their death beds. I'm not joking. He really did tell me that. So obviously I didn't go back to that guy again.
This time. Jeremy started getting a fever on Monday, but he was still running around and eating like a teenager. Tuesday, it was a little worse so he stayed home from school. Last night he was burning up! So I called the doctor (Dr. Jones, he's actually really nice and caring) and got him in. They took his temperature and it was over 103!!!! The doctor came in and determined that he had both an ear infection and strep throat. Yikes. He did say that if anyone in the household started to get sick, just call him and he would call in some scripts. As we were leaving he jokingly said "Don't let it get that bad next time." So one doctor tells me not to bring them in unless they are on their death bead, and when I do that, another doctors tells me to bring them in sooner. I just can't win.

I Just Can't Win

I about crapped myself when Abby told me that! I was shocked and slightly outraged that we're just following a doctor's order and then chided for it. I know that opinions vary from person to person, but come one. Is it the death bed or not?!!
You know I totally agree. Some Drs. just care more then others. That is why I like DO's because they trane them to listen to everything and to look at everything. Once you find a good Dr you keep him. I hope Jeremy gets better soon. Stephen talks about him all the time, and I'm not kidding. Yesterday he said " You know what mom Jeremy is my friend, I wish that I can go to his house to his birthday party." True story. That boy has me wraped around his little fingers If I didn't have something going every week this month I probably would make the trip out again. Pretty pathetic huh.
That is a bunch of crap. Its like they need the kids to be dying in order for them to treat them. I know what it is, it is a conspiracy. They want us to come in when they are totally sick so they can run all sorts of tests and make us spend major bucks to get our kids better. I mean they don't make very much money when our kids are well and don't need alot of tests done. Thats what it is I am sure of it. Well I hope Jeremy feels better, my kids are just barely getting better.
A happy medium would be nice wouldn't it. I'm sorry he is not feeling so great. Funny thing. I was just reading a blog the other day written by a pediatrician about that very thing - when to bring your child in. If you want to read it, let me know. You may or may not like it.
I have finally learned after all this time to speak my mind more freely with doctors. I have a right to certain things when I go see one. They are not God after all. I think I would have told that other doctor off. Mothers are pretty good and telling when kids are sick. At least you found a good one now.
I thought I would give an update. Bailee is now deathly ill as well. Oh well, at least they will be so sick they won't be able to tease each other.
