The Difference Between Me and a Grown-up

So I have been reading a lot about the "Big Love Controversy."  Frankly, I am peeved.  How dare they?  To air such sacred ordinances is insensitive and for what?  Ratings?!?  It really bothers me.  So while we were in my Dad's office at the church I started ranting about it.  And then I asked him what he thought about it.  This was his response:  "Well, that certainly is their right."
That is the difference between me and a grown-up.  My dad understands that those kind of things don't really matter.  The only thing that matters is what I am doing and how I am becoming a better person.  Even the church has said, it "as an institution does not call for boycotts..." and "Latter-day Saints should conduct themselves with dignity and thoughtfulness..."

That's what they remind us of everytime we leave a session of conference and there are protestors outside. They are trifling with sacred things and they will be held accountable for it someday. What matters is what we do with ourselves. Love you honey.

I guess that they do have the right. Who ever told them this stuff I think is going to Hell! But if Heavenly father didn't want it to be known he would destroy it in someway or another. How ever we all know that the world is going to get alot worse before it gets better.

You can't help being horrified by their actions. It is natural to want to protect something so sacred. But you hit it on the head...we need to be making sure we are doing what we should and that's what will speak volumes to the people who are seeking the truth. They will recognize the spirit through our actions.

While this may bring some negative attention to the church, it's not new. Along with the negative, there will be a lot of positive come of it. I really liked Elder Ballard's and Hale's conference talks about how the work will move on amidst all the persecution and negative stuff. The Lord knows how to make the best of this situation.

Everyone has hit it on the head. I could not have said it better. Kudos to all of you for being so great.
