An Ode to the Green Ball O Fun

My dearest green ball o fun, how you have added such joy to my life.  I remember the day that we met.  My best friend, Holly, and I were shopping in Walmart, buying some items for our apartment.  We were Jrs. in college and we only had enough money for the essentials (milk, eggs, etc.) and then we happen upon the toy department and see a bin full of big bouncy balls, and our eyes were immediately drawn to you:
Green Ball
As responsible young adults, we throw aside our shopping list and grab you up and take you home.  Now, a lot of others our age would ask, "What are you going to do with a big green ball."  Holly and I would look at each other with sly smiles and ignore the others mocking's.  We knew just how much fun we could have with you.
Oh how much fun we had playing 500 in the middle of the night on the football field.  The hours that we spent playing kickball.  And lets not forget those midnight dodgeball tournaments.  You were a chair as we watched TV in the front room.  You were a floatation device in the pool.  You were a weapon when undesirable guys tried to enter our apartment.  You were an exercise tool (which didn't happen very often).  You were always up for a good time and we knew that we could turn to you when we were bored.
Then, one dark day, we forgot to bring you in from the cold.  The next morning, we opened the door and there you lay flat and miserable.  After much contemplation, we decided to deflate you and end your misery rather than keep you around suffering just for sentimental reasons.  Thank you green ball o fun for all that you gave us, and hopefully, when my kids are older, I can introduce them to the simply joy that a green ball o fun really is.

That stupid ball came at me a time or two when i would enter the apartment. However,i think after a while we came to respect each other and see each other as equals.

I might just have to introduce my boys to a green ball so we can make fun memories for them like you did with your green ball.
Cute post. Love it.

Just think when it comes time for your kids to have a ball like that it will only cost you $2.50. So cheap for fun that will last a life time.
