Spoons

A few days ago I was cleaning out the flatware drawer. As I was pulling out a bunch of spoons I came across these:

Baby spoons. My mind immediately flashed back to Jeremy wearing his little helmet barely learning to walk, let alone eat by himself. I remember spooning rice cereal and his pudgy rice smeared face smiling up at me. I remembered Bailee’s huge cheeks and two-tooth smile as I spooned bananas and vanilla custard for her. They were so little.

The next morning I walk into the kitchen to find my little children eating breakfast with “regular” spoons:

I smiled and showed them the spoons they used to eat with and Bailee squealed and said, “Mom they are soooo cute, like for a baby.”
Yes, they were for babies, my two little babies that are now on to the next chapter of their lives. And I can’t wait to see what is in store. I love you both!!

I'm not going to cry...not going to cry...okay...choking up a little. They're getting to be so big and don't even want our help anymore, even when things are out of their reach. They're so wonderful and smart and getting bigger every day. Love you kids!!

I love it how any little things can bring back memories of the past. The good memories help us learn from the past and evaluate our future. Those chubby little babies were such a joy and fund to watch grow and progress.

The all silver spoon is my favorite to eat ice cream. I'll start using those spoons again very soon. It is great to have good flash back memories isn't it.

I just want to cherish every moment I can with my baby before he grows up so fast. And, same with the rest of them. I will not wish away their lives. I will enjoy each and every phase of their lives because they don't last long.
Great post. You got me teary eyed, too.
