Rite of Passage

Every kid has them.  First tooth.  First step.  First day of school.  First boyfriend.  First kiss, etc.  Well, yesterday, my two darling, angel, innocent, never-get-into-trouble children had a first.  First haircut.  While my mother was looking for some black thread to sew my beloved jacket my angels grabbed her sewing scissors and went to town on each other's hair.  You would think that a 3 year-old can't do much damage with 5 minutes of unsupervised time.  Wrong.  Take a look at Bailee's masterpiece.

Oh no, there's more . . .

Of course, Jeremy couldn't be left out.  He certainly wasn't going to let Bailee have all the fun.

Jeremy's was easy to take care of.  We just buzzed his off.  But Bailee's!?!  What are we going to do with Bailee's?  Oh, life.  Apparently every child cuts their hair, but what I can't figure out is why Bailee had to do such a thorough job of it.  Let the record show that like me, Bailee doesn't do things half way.  The glass is half full right?

it was so cute when i went to pick them up from Gradma's house. They were on the couch when i walked in the back door. Bailee and Jeremy jumped up with big smiles on. I was a little suprised to see Bailee because i wasn't expecting so much. Immediately she covered the top of her head with her little hands and said "don't look at my hair dad" with her cute donald duck lips and big eyes. too cute.

Oh my. What do I say??? I'm speechless. That's just way too funny and cute. This will be great blackmail for later on in their lives. And, just in time for school to start.

The best is the look on Jeremy's face. He looks like a scared little puppy, like he knows he's in for it.

They look like mugshots! That is so funny. I have some great haircut firsts too. Only time is on Baily's side now! At least she doesn't start school tomorrow, or does she? We want pics of the attempt to make better!

P.S. Did I already say how much I love your new look?!?

Kids will be kids. Cute kids as a matter of fact.

Just when you think you have nothing to worry about, they do something unthinkable. You can never get complacent with kids. They'll bite you every time. At least it was something thata grows back and not entirely unfixable. Such is life.
