Hello, my name is . . .

Over the past couple of days, I have come to the conclusion that there are people in my life who just don't know who I am. Whether by their own misconceptions or by other people's opinion of me. So, I figured I would introduce the world to the real Abby.
Name: Abby Lyn. Morrill: I put the . after Lyn when I was in fourth grade because I was trying to be more exotic, and it totally worked!!
Birthday: May 12, 1980: I share the same birthday with my cousin Amanda's son Jackson (he's two and yes ladies he's single).
My Best Friends: Holly is my life-long friend, she has My best friendsknown me the longest and understands everything about me (Love you best friend) and of course Matt. He listens to me and values my opinion more than his own.
Favorite Movie: Fever Pitch: I love Jimmy Fallon!
Favorite Music: Lifehouse: it's the music Matt and I fell in love to (our love soundtrack).
Favorite Food: Anything I don't have to cook. I don't cook, I set things on fire (and not in a good way).
Most defining characteristic: Integrity: I believe in being honest, real, and sincere. I will always tell you the truth: if you butt looks big in those jeans, I WILL tell you. I hold no pretenses or agendas, I don't have time for them.
Organization: People say that I am extremely organized. Life is too short to leave it up to chance. I have a lot to do: Work full-time, two kids, YW calling, FHE, Visiting Teaching, Studying, and anything else that people need me to do. I wouldn't be able to do it all if I didn't organize my time.
Sense of Humor: because I am so organized, people don't think that I have a sense of humor. Those who know me long enough know that although I have a "down to business" outlook on my life, I can also find the humor in it when it comes. Matt and I have even annoyed some movie goers with our laughter and high fives during a movie. Sorry if you're the one we spilled a little bit of our popcorn on, but the movie was funny, you have to admit. 100_0506
Family: Everything that I do in this life is for my family. I love my kids more than myself and I do everything I possibly can for them. I work hard, I try to be a good example, I plan activities and vacations to instill the importance of being together as a family, and I help them overcome milestones and stumbling blocks to the best of my ability.
Respect: My entire life my parents have respected my thoughts and ideas, even my choices (although I didn't like some of the consequences of those choices). They have treated me like an adult since I became one and let me be my own person. Because of that, I give respect when I get it. If you don't respect me, I won't respect you. That doesn't mean that I don't like you, I just won't respect you, there is a difference. 100_1528
My Spouse: My equal, my love, my one and only. Our goals are the same, we love each other, we love the Lord. He is a great example of being a help meet and companion.
My Parents: I absolutely LOVE living right100_1429 next door to my parents. They are always there for me, Matt, and my kids. They watch my kids while I am at work and they love them (more than I think they ever loved me *wink), and they want to see them succeed. Because we live so close, all of us can come and go as we please and have spontaneous outings. They are a great example of commitment and dedication to one another. I love you guys!!
Nature: I hate nature. Bugs, dirt, the cold, smoke, lack of indoor plumbing, bugs, dirt, and did I mention bugs? I tolerate it on a few occasions, but I don't recreate in it, that is what hotels are for.
Hobbies: I read a lot: church books, 'tween books (yes, I love Twilight), kids books, classics, and of course my scriptures. I scrapbook (I have about 10 scrapbooks made). I make memory books for my kids. I enjoy going to the movies and shopping. I really like going out to dinner. And I love hopping in the car, getting a drink, and driving around just talking.
Service: I believe that my life is blessed because of service. My Dad has been the perfect example of selfless service and I take a page out of his book. When I agree to do something, I go all out and do it the best that I can with a happy heart. When someone needs something, I am more than happy to give. When someone calls me, I drop what I am doing to help them. Because of this, my life has been blessed in ways that don't seem so obvious.
Tithing: Tithing is one of the Gospel principles that you can be perfect in. You can ALWAYS pay a perfect and full tithe. It is a small thing but blesses my life in so many ways. After we pay our tithing, we somehow still have enough for bills, food, and recreation. The fact that Matt's car is still running is an example of tithing. I know that the Lord will take care of me when I pay a full tithe. I have put it to the test, and I have seen it first hand.
Humility: Life has a funny/extreme way of humbling people. But I am grateful for the humility I have received this past year. Because of it, I don't judge other people period. Nothing good comes from being catty or dramatic. I choose to think the best of others and realize if they did something wrong, they can always repent and be in just as good of standing with Heavenly Father as I am. I certainly don't think I am better than other people and I never will. Everyone has their own personal Gethsemane's to overcome.
The Gospel: I love the Gospel. I would not be where I am today without it. Because my Savior has given me so much, I devote my time, talents, and money to my calling. I prepare, teach, lead, and help the young women in the ward know who their Heavenly Father is and how to return, with honor, to Him someday. I teach the things I believe and the things that I live. I believe that Jesus is my personal Savior. I know him personally. He has laid down beside me in my most devastating hours and put His arms around me. He has wiped away my tears and buoyed me up to face the world. I believe the Book of Mormon is the most true book on the earth today. Its lessons and teachings are universal and timeless. I have a testimony of the temple. I know that the temple is God's house on earth and in it, we are taught saving ordinances to help our families be together forever. I put the Gospel before myself and my family. Without my testimony, nothing else would matter.

So there is a little bit about who I am and what I believe.

What a great blog. Life certainly has a way of defining who we are. Most of us don't stop to find out what we gained from our experiences in life until way later in life. Good for you for learning that lesson early then you can learn from them. You're a great daughter and we area glad you live next door too. Love

It's true. Every word of it is true. She is who she is and she doesn't change in the face of adversity. That's one of my favorite things about Abby: you know exactly where you stand with her and she doesn't play games. I love her very much for who she is and how she is. Love you sweetheart!

Abby doesn't take guff from anyone. She's one tough girl. I love how organized she is. I should take lessons from her cause I'm certainly not organized.
Another thing about Abby is her thoughtfulness. She thinks of things most people wouldn't, like sending treats with us on our long drives home. I could go on, but it might embarras her. I will just say, I sure like Abby. I'm glad that we are family.
