California Day 3–Universal Studios

After looking at the weather, we saw there was a 90% chance of rain, so we got dressed in our warm clothes and headed to Hollywood.  We parked by City Walk and headed to the park entrance.  

After we got our annual passes, we headed to the gates. Right when we walked in, Matt saw one of his favorite characters:

As we were headed to the escalators to take us to the lower lot, Jeremy got snagged up in this guy:

There are photo opportunities all over the park.

We headed straight to the newest ride – Transformers.

Then we wandered over to the Mummy and then hit up Jurassic Park.  As Matt and Jeremy looked for souvenirs, Gabby and Bailee wanted to ride Transformers again.  After we met back up, we headed back to the upper lot and rode the Simpson ride:

While we were waiting for the ride, we saw some characters, and Homer even surprised Bailee:

When we got out of the rid it was pouring rain.  We grabbed some lunch at Doc Brown’s and then headed to the Shrek show:

Then, after the show, we walked down to the Studio Tour.  The rain had let up, but it was still pretty chilly:

After a little wait we headed on our tram to view the backlot.  We started with some famous cars and then a little fast and furious demonstration.

Next we saw a flash flood (that freaked Bailee out) and some skull island action.

Followed by a little Jaws action and who-ville.

and of course Norman Bates:

and the airplane crash scene from War of the Worlds and the cabin from Great Outdoors:

After the studio tour we wandered around until the Waterworld show was starting. 


And Gabby saw her favorite character:

Then it was time for the show, and it was pretty cool with explosions, airplane crashes and a whole lot of action.

Then we headed to the Haunted House and Animal shows, by then it was pretty chilly, so after a little bit of shopping:

We exited the park, to a few photos at the entrance:

Then we made our way through City Walk (stopping for some smoothies)

and made it back to the car.
