One of the best times of the year is General Conference. Because of my schedule, I could only get Saturday off. Matt also had to work because of the merger with Blackstone and quarterly and month end reconciliations that had to be done.
Friday night, after I got off work at 8, we headed up to the Salt Lake just in time to to go to bed. That morning, Matt got up and headed into work. As we were listening to the first session, we would text back and forth and comment on the speakers.
It is such a blessing to have prophets and apostles that offer guidance and counsel to our families. I am always so energized after conference.
Between the break I took the kids swimming.
While we were swimming, Matt called me and said he was on his way back up. We were going over to Holly’s to visit and give her a blessing, so we watched the session of conference, talked about things, and then headed back to Matt could get ready for the Priesthood Session. Having City Creek open really solves a lot of problems, including parking. The girls headed over to City Creek to get some things for some baptisms that are coming up, and the men headed over the conference center. After some shopping, we got some cheesecake from the cheesecake factory and picked up some dinner and headed back to the hotel.
The next morning after the first session, we packed up and headed over the conference center. It was weird to see City Creek almost empty, especially because yesterday it was packed with hundreds of people.
It was a beautiful fall day:
It was Bailee’s first time going and she was very excited. She amazed at how large the conference center was.
We found our seats and got ready for the last session of conference for 2012.
As always, everything was amazing. The music, the speakers and the Spirit. We left with tears in our eyes.
I am so grateful for revelation that guides our lives and keeps us on the path of happiness. The church is true!!!

Conference is my great spiritual high. I love it so much. We have been blessed for so many years to be able to go in the conference center. I love being with my family and sharing this awesome experience.
It was a very special conference. Elder Hollands talk on loving Christ was my favorite one. I loved how he portrayed that if we love the Savior, then there's no question about what we need to be doing. We need to focus on His will and growing every day instead of slipping back into what is comfortable and easy.
