OK everyone get out your torches and pitchforks. I am about to upset the mob. I HATE the Stampede. I don’t care that it is tradition and I can barely remember the fond memories of attending in my youth. That being said, Matt told mom that we would take some her tickets for Friday night. So Friday afternoon we sat and watched the parade, which, due to a nice little breeze, was actually quite enjoyable.
Then we headed to the fairgrounds. I always enjoy the opening ceremony. It is very patriotic.
And that was the only thing I enjoyed that night. The kids had fun though, so I guess that is what counts, right?
A few weeks back we told the kids that since they were so good at Grandma Cindy’s funeral we would take them to the carnival at the Stampede. The kids were very excited about it. Granted, it was very dirty and there were several times I thought one of the rides might break down, but the kids had a blast.
We bought them the wristbands so they could go on the rides over and over and over. And they did ride until they were both sick. Being a Disneyland buff, it just kills me to spend money on awful rides when that money could be saved and put toward a Disneyland ticket, but the kids had a fun and it was a good reward for them. Then, Jeremy went to the rodeo with Grandpa and Bailee went to Jenny’s house while Matt and I saw Harry Potter.

we as parents do stuff is for the kids. They have a great time and that is all that we shoot for. Glad they had a great time. So what has made it so that you don't like the stampede anymore? We went to see the Harry Potter movie in 3D and it was great. I'm tempted to go and see it again.l
I'll tell you what. I enjoy the horse parade and seeing the rodeo. The carnival was really...really hot. Watching the kids ride the rides made me feel a little sick to my stomach as well. It was fun to see each of them come off their last rides holding their little belly's and saying that they didn't want to ride any more. It was classic.
I can't believe you don't like the stampede! haha. Yes it's all for the kids! Not so much for us anymore.
Getting old is no fun. You lose your sense of wonder. I did enjoy may parts of the Stampede though. Being old, I couldn't hear most of the raunchy jokes, so that was a plus.
