Satan's Snare

Since all the family was together this past week, I decided to have a combined FHE about getting hooked by Satan's Snare.  I made fish that had situations where they could earn a piece a candy and there were fish that said they got caught in Satan's Snare and they had to give back a piece of candy.  The kids all lined up around the "pond."

And they got their fishing poles and started to fish:

The fish that said they got caught in Satan's Snare were face a different direction than the other fish, so whenever one of the kids would start to go for those fish all the parents would say that they shouldn't go for that one and maybe they should try for a different one.  Towards the end, there were still some fish left but most of them were the bad fish so we asked if they wanted to keep the candy they had and walk away or if they wanted to keep fishing.  Some of the kids walked away and other kids ignored the warnings of their parents and wanted to keep fishing and inevitably got caught in Satan's Snare.  Towards the end I sat all the kids down and talked about the atonement and how it makes us all equal, so at the end, everyone had an equal amount of candy.  It was a fun FHE and the kids are asking when they can go fishing again.

And since then Jeremy has been asking me to take him fishing for reals. I plan on it one of these nights that Abby will be gone to girls camp. It sounded like a really fun FHE and had some good lessons for the kids. I'm very appreciative for the hard work and imagination you use to put these FHE's together sweetheart. Love you!

They did have a good time and I really think the point was made to them when some of them had to give back candy.

It was a fun FHE and a good way to bring across an important point. The kids had fun and my kids still talk about goin fishin. I still have candy from that day. What a good day.
