Annual Christmas Light Parade

My cute little town is full of many quirks.  For instance, people have no problem stopping in the middle of the street to chat (even Main Street).  Most everyone knows your name, social security number, and what you had for breakfast.  Mostly, my town knows how to celebrate, they go all out for the 4th of July and the Ute Stampede.  Not to mention Halloween, Veterans Day, and now Christmas.  Saturday night was the 2nd annual Christmas light parade.  It was great.  We decided to skip the lighting ceremony and just stake out a spot to see  the floats.

Anyone could enter a float, there were families, businesses, and church groups.  They were awesome.  First up was Santa riding the fire engine.

The hospital's float was very patriotic.

I loved that they had a real baby Jesus.  Poor kid was probably freezing.

The Phillips family played music and had a real donkey and sheep on their float.  So creative.

My favorite was the Polar Express,  ahhh all the memories.

The Fine Arts Council gingerbread house was amazing.

It was a fun night.  Afterward, we drove all over looking at all the lights the city has put up around town.  The city park is toy wonderland, the veterans memorial has deer roaming the rose garden, across the street at the corner park there are thousands of lights, and of course the Old Mill Park is decorated to the nines.  I love my little town and it just isn't Christmas without all the festivities.

So if you can, stop on by and I'll show just how awesome my quirky little town is.

It's pretty cool...and cold. Good thing we bundled up nice and snug. The colors were great and the kids loved all the lights. It was a great way to start off the Christmas Season

I love parades and I am so glad that we have one now for Christmas. I loved it all. The lights we have are pretty amazing for such a small town. I guess we all just love Christmas. Maybe we could call our town, Christmas Town.

How fun. You almost make me wish we had come out in the cold to see it instead of staying at Bonnie's playing hand and foot where it was nice and warm.
