Well, my entire life, there has always been one event that has signaled the arrival of Spring - branding the cows. When I was a little girl, I ALWAYS helped my dad, when I turned into a mutant "teenager", I asked myself "Why am I standing around in the hot sun, smelling burnt hair? For fun? I think not." So that signaled the end of my innocent youth. Still, I always associate Spring with branding cows even though I am not up there in the thick of it.

Matt loves this time of year. He was so excited he invited his entire family up for the big event. Brandon brought his boys and Kaden to gain this "manly" experience. They all had a blast and came home with sunburned necks. Kaden even tried his hand at castrating a cow (He didn't have the stomach to finish the job) and Matt helped him finish. He did however pose for his trophy.

We also got a great deal on a wooden picnic table out the good old Nebo Market. The kids love the umbrella and they think that they are so grown up sitting at their very own table. When I was a kid I hated sitting at the kids table, maybe they aren't old enough to realize the blatant segregation. Oh well.

It was a great day yesterday. Sitting out on the lawn on a blanket is another indication that spring is here. Time to weed the flower beds and get ready to plant. (All those things you get Matt to do for you.) Lucky dog.
Oh man. That picture of Kaden is just, well, yuck. I may have enjoyed branding cows with you guys on my bday if it meant being with family, but I don't think you would have caught me castrating cows.
Cute table. I'm glad you are getting some nice weather, finally.
Yeah, yuck on the trophy!
Isn't spring so much fun? I like to see what spring brings for everyone. I never realized there were so many ways to bring in the sunshine.
