Galulah

I have no idea how to spell that, but that is what we did on Memorial Day.  Monday morning we loaded up the car (Jenny loaded up hers) and we were off.  Galulah is in between Fairview Canyon and Price.  On the way up the Canyon, Matt insisted on pulling off to "drink in the view."  So we all get out and Dad begins his mischievousness.  We are all standing at the edge of a huge cliff and Dad sneaks up behind each one of us (at different times) and tries to push us forward.  He did that with all of us.

After our pit stop, we continued on through Fairview Canyon, down past the coal mines, through Scofield and we finally made it to Galulah.  The drive was pretty.

Galulah is a big chunk of land that Uncle Calvin owns.  Matt really really wants to go back and go camping.  There are trails for horses and camping.

I'm told that the best part about this particular camping spot is that there is nobody around for miles.  It didn't excite me too much, since I'm not a camper, but it was pretty and it made a fun day trip.  After we left, we headed to Price for some lunch and then headed home.  Matt stopped at the hardware store and bought a bunch of plants for our garden.  It was a nice relaxing holiday.

Zoo Mania!!!

So the Friday after Jeremy's Kindergarten Graduation (yes he is still going to school until Friday - weird I know) we went to the Zoo for his fieldtrip.  What can I say about the zoo?  It was definitely quiet.  Of course my idea of quiet is quite a bit different from others because I am use to the crowds at Disneyland, so the zoo was a cakewalk for us.  We started with our traditional pictures.  Everytime you go to the zoo you've got to get one of these babies:

So then we decided to visit some of the resident animals.  We started with the Elephants.

Then we hit the Rhinos and the Reptiles.  We grabbed some churros and a pretzel and waited for the Birds of Flight Show to start.  That was probably one of the highlights of the trip.

This is the biggest eagle in the world.

It was a cute show that discussed all different types of birds and then ended with this:

Very cool.  After the birds, we decided to grab some lunch.  On the way we saw these:

Since it was Friday, we decided to keep with tradition and order a Pizza.  Then we hit the giraffes and all the felines:

The monkeys and gorillas were really cute.

I was surprised how clean the zoo was.  There wasn't any garbage on the grounds.  The buildings that you go inside were a little "ripe" but its the zoo.  Overall, it was really slow-paced, but fun and educational.  I'm glad I was able to go with my kids.  The only downfall was Jeremy taking off TWICE and my panic attacks that followed, but we found him eventually.  It was a fun day and I can't wait to go back with Bailee's class.

12 More Years

Jeremy had his Kindergarten Graduation on the 20th.  He was quite excited.  I have been working with him and little group to teach them a little pig dance for the program.  We got there early because I wanted front-row seats.

Jeremy looked sharp in his suit.  They started the pomp and circumstance and all the little Kindergartners started walking down the aisle.

The program consisted of little groups doing dances while the kids in the background sang the song.  Jeremy's dance was "This Little Pig."  He looked so cute with his snout and ears.

He did great:

Zoey was the cutest.  She would shake and jive to every song.  She had a blast:

After the program, the principal called the names of all the students and then we took pictures like crazy.

My little boy is growing up.  Matt and I were talking and it will only be 12 more years and he will be graduating High School.  Time goes by too fast.  Congratulations Jeremy.  I am so proud of you.  You have learned so much and I am excited for everything you have yet to learn.  You're my little man!!!

Boogie On Down

Bailee had her preschool graduation on the 16th.

They started the program and had them recite the alphabet and the number and then the singing began.  It was the cutest thing ever!!!  They would sing these cute little songs and do the actions and dance along with it.  Bailee did so great.

This is Bailee singing "Boogie on Down."  I wish I would have brought my video camera because she was such a little cutie.  After the program we had cookies and then went home and had a little barbecue.

She is getting so big.  She has learned quite a bit this year and I am so glad that she is my little girl.  Congrats Bailee!!!

My Last Year

This year is the last year that I will ever age.  I will forever be 29 now.  It was a great birthday.  Sharon showed up at my work with all the boys.  They brought me flowers and a card.  Ammon was so excited that he could actually write his own name.

Matt called up the Ludlows to inform them that it was in fact my birthday.  So they proceeded to tease me the entire day until I got a delivery:

After work, Matt ushered the kids into the spare bedroom where they all proceeded to wrap their presents for me.  Jeremy got me some air fresheners for my car, Bailee got me some lotion and a crystal figurine, and Pookie got me a card with a Scentsy candle coupon.  After the presents, he brought out the cake, and yes, he insisted on putting 29 candles on the cake:

But it was fun to blow out all the candles:

So after we had cake, I had to go to Stake Standards Night.  The Lenhart's picked me up and greeted me with a Birthday song and a candle.  It was a great night and if I must get older, I am so very glad that I can do it surrounded by the ones that I love.
