Oh No!! Now What Do I Do?

Last night I came to a hard realization, I, Abby Lyn. Morrill, am a nerd. What led me to this realization? Well, last night I was having a hard time sleeping. So I turned to Matt and asked, "What did you do at work today?" Thinking that I would slowly get lulled into a bored slumber. Well he started telling me about reconciliation's and liability accounts. Suddenly my mind was turned to all the accounts that I need to reconcile and balance for the end of the month. I wasn't getting sleepy, I was getting more awake!! Suddenly I gasp, and Matt asks what is going on. "I just understood everything you said. This is not good." Ever since I have started to all the accounting, I have turned into a nerd. Like Matt, I now know the thrill of a perfectly balanced account, and the anticipation of reconciling liability accounts, ledgers and statements. So when I can't sleep, now what am I supposed to do. I now share in the nerdery that is my husband.

First Day of All Day

Last night was back to school night, and Jeremy was elated.  He walked into that school with a grin on his face.  He met his new teacher, Mrs. Wood, and picked out a desk.  At home, he scarfed up his dinner and hopped in the tub.  He was in bed by 8 that night with his school clothes already picked out.  The next morning, he is up and dressed before Matt can get out of the shower.  So they sit and have breakfast.

Matt leaves for work, and Jeremy tries to bounce me out of bed, because he is leaving for school.  I looked at the clock, 6:50!!!!  I told Jeremy he had an hour until the bus picked him up.  So he went downstairs and watched Iron Man, until I called him upstairs.  So we headed out the door.
Leaving for school
Jeremy was all sorts of excited.  We skipped over to Grandma's to say goodbye.

The answer to your question, is yes, mom's hair always looks that crazy. :)
I wanted a picture with my little guy.

Jeremy sat waiting anxiously.
Excited for school
Finally it was time to head to the bus stop.  We were almost there when Tess and Lydia spotted Jeremy and called out to him.  Jeremy stops in his tracks and starts crying and running back to Grandma's house.
I caught up with him and talked to him about going to school, and those girls were just being nice.  He kept crying.  So I started crying.  Finally, I managed to get him in line for the school bus.

The bus showed up, and Jeremy was fine and smiling.  As he hopped on the bus, Tess and Lydia popped their heads up and asked Jeremy to sit by him.  He agreed, and he was off to school.

I walked back to the house with tears in my eyes.  He is growing up so fast, and soon he will be on a mission.  In the meantime, I hope he has a great day at school.

Splish Splash and a little Freefallin'

Last week we decided to take the family to 7 peaks.  Jeremy hadn't used his reader ticket yet, so we figured we would all go for FHE.  At the ward party, we invited the Lenharts to come with us.  After much persuasion, they agreed to go.  Mo (Verena's Sister) joined us and we all crammed in the car and headed for some fun in the sun.
It was hot and I was surprised how crowded it was.   When we got there, Verena had a gift card and bought everyone's ticket (thanks again, you're the best) and then we hopped in the lazy river.  It was cold, but felt good on such a hot day.  We went on a slide and we waited for almost 30 minutes.  I don't even wait 30 minutes for a ride at Disneyland, so I was a little perturbed at the crowds.  We looked down and saw the wave pool was covered with tubes.  I was surprised at how many people they could cram in there.  We managed just fine though.
After the slide, we let the kids run and play in the splash pool.  Jeremy discovered how fun it was to play dead in the water, mostly because I would have a heart attack thinking he was drowning and he would pop up laughing.  As Matt and I were sitting in the splash pool, I would look around at all the slides, and then I spotted it - the FREE FALL.  I looked up at it and saw that there was NO line.   "Hmm," I thought to myself, "why do you suppose that there is no line for that slide?  We should totally go on it, it doesn't look that bad."
So I went over to the ladies and told them that we should go on it, and after a little coercion, they agreed.  Tess stayed with all the little ones and we began our ascent to the free fall.  The higher up we went, the more terrified I got.  It doesn't look that high from the bottom.  So I decided to go first, and it was a RUSH.  (The next few days, however, my back was KILLING me from said slide)  So after all the adults went on the free fall, it was getting later, and cooler so we hit the wave pool.  The water was WARM the kids had a blast floating in the river.  It was getting close to closing time, so we hopped out, rinsed off and changed.

Then we got a churro from Sam's Club.  And went and had dinner at Taco Bell.  The thing that I love about Taco Bell is that I can feed my little family of 4 for $5.  It was great.  Afterwards, we went and saw Mace's new shop for his cookie dough business.  Then we headed for home.  The kids were out and sawing logs before we even got on the freeway.  It was a great day spent with friends.  A perfect end to the summer.

Guffaws, Giggles, and Grins

Over the weekend, we had our Psych party, and let me tell you, Shawn and Gus didn't disappoint.
We started the night with a buffet of finger foods:

Pizza, popcorn chicken, veggies, fruit, bread, and more sweets than you can possibly imagine.
Then, the real fun began.
Shawn and Gus spot an art thief whom Lassiter has been trying to arrest for years. So, although they are on a skiing vacation in Canada, they appeal to the local constabulary with mixed results: someone gets axed, another finds himself interrogated and Pierre Despereaux may get away scot-free, once again.

And yes, that is Wesley from the Princess Bride.  After the show we all gathered together for a group 100_3490
photo, when Jeremy came running in covered head to toe in pizza sauce, I realized I should have taken the picture before we ate.  Jenny (who is adamantly against psych, even posed for a pic)

But it was a great night filled with guffaws, giggles, and grins.
