For Father’s Day, we decided to take a spontaneous trip to Colorado. Stephen had to work that weekend, so we brought mom along. We were up at 4 AM and were on our way. We made it to Monticello at nine for Breakfast. We found this tasty local place where the kids played pool and we had homemade food.
Then we headed down to Four Corners Monument for a little Tourist Trap Action.
Across from all the lines were vendors selling their trinkets. Of course we got sucked in and bought a Christmas ornament and a fridge magnet. It was pretty touristy. It was hot and dirty and I was ready to go after 15 minutes. It was a fun thing to do, but I doubt I would want to go back EVER again.
After, we headed to Cortez for some lunch, and then we headed to Mesa Verde National Park. We headed to the Visitors Center.
Then we headed into the park. We stopped at the History Museum where there was the traditional film.
Then we hiked down to Spruce House. It was so amazing and beautiful…….however, it was blazing HOT.
Jeremy was completely ornery the ENTIRE trip.
It was around 4 by then and we headed back to the hotel. We grabbed some dinner at J. Fargo and then headed to the seven o’clock showing of Inside Out. It was super adorable. One of my favorite movies so far.
The next morning we headed to church in Cortez. After Sacrament meeting, we headed to Moab for lunch at Eddie McStiff’s. After some tasty food, we decided to head up to Arches.
It was far too hot to continue the day, so we just hopped in the car and headed for home. It was a fun little weekend, and I’m so grateful to spend time with my family and make new and lasting memories.
