The Comforter

“Many are praying to Heavenly Father for relief, for help in carrying their burdens of grief, loneliness, and fear. Heavenly Father hears those prayers and understands their needs.” –President Eyring

The precedent five months have been filled with just that……grief, loneliness and fear.  So many things have happened and changed the dynamics of my family.  It was starting to become too much to bare.  I found myself daily asking Heavenly Father “Why?” in one form or another.

In my almost 35 years of life, when I have chosen the path God has laid out for me, he has provided everything I needed to be successful in one form or another.  However, this time I found myself searching for the comfort he would always provide……and coming up empty.

Then President Eyring spoke of comfort and hope in the face of difficulty.

As I listened to one of His apostles testify of the hope and comfort given by living the Gospel of Jesus Christ, my heart burned within and clarity entered my soul.  I received a renewed vigor to accomplish the tasks given to me.  I knew that I was on the right path, but most importantly, I knew with all my might, mind, and soul, that I was doing what Heavenly Father wanted me to, and because of that, he would ALWAYS provide a way for me to accomplish his will.

I am grateful for a living prophet and apostles and a loving Heavenly Father who provides comfort and direction in our time of need.  I hope I will always look to my Savior and my leaders for hope, guidance, and above all, comfort.
