Matt was saying that all day yesterday. It was his 30th birthday. For some odd reason I was WIDE awake at 5am so I figured that I would attempt some breakfast for Matt. Luckily Bailee was up and she offered to crack the eggs. As I was stirring them I thought to myself, "I should SPICE this up a little." So I opened the spice cabinet and I had NO idea what half of the spices were so I just sprinkled a little of everything in for good measure. Then Bailee made some toast and we presented the birthday boy with his breakfast. He didn't even cringe while he was eating them. Then I decided to deck the dining room out in Matt's school colors. Then, Bailee and I started making Matt's birthday cake. Bailee was there to crack the eggs again (eggs freak me out) and we made his favorite, yellow cake with chocolate frosting:
After church, Cory and Sharon came down and we had Matt's requested birthday dinner: Steak, steak fries with brown gravy, broccoli, and homemade rolls. Then it was time for the cake:
Yes, there are 30 candles on that bad boy.
As soon as the candles were out, the kids DIVED into the cake. Everyone was in good spirits.
It was a great day, and it was great to spend it with the ones we love!!
