Brandon and Angie informed us that they were planning on heading up to the Lagoon for Frightmares. So we scoured KSL and found super cheap tickets, and Friday was the big day!
We were on the road at 9AM to be up there by opening. Once we go there, the kids had to use the restroom, so they let us in the park early to take a bathroom break. I was surprised at how decked out the park was:

Then we had to go back outside to wait for the park to officially open:![]()
Once the park opened at 11, we all headed through the turnstiles and there was a problem with 2 of our tickets, so Jeremy and I went to guest services to see what the hold up was. Once they reset the bar code, we were on our way to meet up with everyone at the traditional first ride – the Tidal Wave.![]()
Most people LOVED it:

There were a couple who DID NOT like it at all:

After tidal wave, we scooted over to ride Wicked before the lines got too long. We did stop for a quick photo:

Then we hopped in line. Once the first part of our group rode the ride, we baby swapped with the other. This ride was awesome!!![]()

Sharon didn’t like it too much. Both of my kids were begging to ride it again. After our Wicked experience, we headed over to the Spider. Shauna and Sharon decided to take the kids that were too small or too scared over to the kiddie rides while we rode the faster coasters.

After the spider we went over to the Colossus. This ride actually made me sick (even with my motion sickness patch).

After, everyone headed over to the Wild Mouse, but I knew that would be murder on my back so I sat that one out and took some pictures of the clever headstones:

After they had ridden the Wild Mouse:

We headed toward the white rollercoaster. On the way we stopped for some costume fun:

Then we went on the scary, rickety roller coaster:![]()
After, we met up with the little ones in the kiddie land and headed to the far side of the park to hit up Rattlesnake Rapids. On the path to the ride, the kids became enthralled with the Siberian Tigers:![]()
And we found some more costumes:

Spencer also wanted to see what he would look like wearing a skirt:![]()
Awwww, so cute.
On the way to Rattlesnake Rapids, we saw the log flume ride was running, so we all packed in:

Matt and Glen were splashing the entire ride!![]()
Then we finally made it to the rapids.

Bailee wasn’t very excited to get wet. It was a nice day and a little cooling off would be refreshing. However, with the help of Cory, Brandon, and Shauna – we were DRENCHED. I think girls got the brunt of the waterfall in both boats. See:

Bailee proceeded to cry and whimper for about an hour because she was wet and cold. So after our shower, we decided to have some lunch.
Coming up . . . Part Two!!!

Spookfest #13 – Psych!!
Saturday was our annual Psych party. We had to wait almost an entire year since we last had one. As we were waiting for everyone to arrive, the little ones were out back playing with the horses. All of sudden, Spencer comes in bleeding everywhere. Seth’s STUPID dog had bitten him. So Brandon and Angie were off to the ER. After everyone showed up, we started off the evening with some dinner and a little performance by the “Lenhart Ladies.”
They had learned the Psych theme song and everyone was singing and clapping towards the end. Brandon and Angie had brought up their projector and instead of everyone cramming in front of our teeny tiny TV, we put it on the wall in all it’s Psych glory. The episode was HILARIOUS. Psych is so so funny. One thing that I really love about this show is that the humor isn’t gross or sexual – just plain funny!!
Since the network made us all wait almost an entire for more psych, I decided to do something special for everyone. We had psych bags made. They were awesome:
After the first episode, we decided we wanted to watch another one, so we watched In Plain Fright, from last season:
Re-watching that episode made me excited to go up to Lagoon’s Frightmares. It was a fun night full of family, friends, food, fun, and of course – Psych!!

Spookfest #12 - Thriller
Matt’s favorite show of the year – THRILLER!! For Holly’s birthday this year, we decided to grab her a ticket to one of the most awesome shows ever!! So Matt and I headed up to SLC:
and met Holly at Outback:
We followed Holly to her apartment to drop off Beyonce (her car):
Holly went and saw it last year with a bunch a buddies, but she was still very excited to go with her to BFFs. See:
We got to Kingsbury Hall and we begged Matt to drop us off. After a bathroom run we find our seats and see that Matt has already sat down. Apparently just as he was leaving the dropoff zone, a lady was pulling out of a spot right next to the entrance – SCORE! Holly was very surprised to be so close to the action. The Zombies were wandering around all over and Holly was right on the aisle:
We found our seats, 4th row:
As we were walking out of Kingsbury I snapped a picture:
We stopped and got some frozen yogurt and dropped Holly off at her apartment. We went to inspect her digs and Matt and I found an “interesting” pillow on her bed:
What? Holly? Is that a half-man pillow? Yup, and she loves it:
We tried to dispose of the half-man pillow, but Holly would have none of it. Matt and I headed for home, and Holly was off to a bridal shower sleepover (ah, the life of a single lady).
It was a thrilling night and the best part was that I was able to share it with my 2 best friends. Happy Halloween everyone.
Spookfest #11 - Fall Leaves
Last Monday we headed up the canyon so Lori could take our family pictures. After the photo shoot we went to our usual spot to roast hot dogs. Hannah Denney and her little ones joined us also (Eric was on a job site in Nevada):![]()

The men were in charge of the fire:

It was a fun little excursion and I can’t wait to see how the family pics turned out! Happy Harvest everybody!
