Birthday Week Kick-Off

Monday morning I was sick.  Like REALLY sick, so I didn’t go in to work.  However, Tuesday morning I was greeted by a Birthday Kick-Off Love Poem from my Pookie:

The nights reflection soft on your skin
A light breeze stirs your hair ever so gently,
Walking next to you, it feels like life is ready to begin
And the value of our love grows deeply.

The moon lights up your eyes
As deep as the depths of the ocean
When I look at you it makes me want to cry
With a renewed sense of devotion.

Your hand finds mine and our fingers close together
Our spirits unhampered by the weather
Makes me glad we’re near each other
And that our love will last forever.

Love you,

Pookie

Thank honey.  I love you too!

Master Matt

Last Friday was the big day!!  We got up and headed up to Salt Lake.  We stopped and In-n-Out for lunch and then we headed to the U campus:

Then we took some pictures before it was time for Matt to line-up.

I put that vinyl on his cap so we could spot him in the crowd.  :)

Then I ran back in to get pictures of him walking in.

After I got sufficient pictures, we headed to Ruby River for a tasting congratulatory dinner.  It was the best day and more than anything I am so proud of my husband who worked so hard to accomplish the goal we set.  He is a great man and I love him so much.  Congratulations pookie!!  You’re the best.

Holding Pattern

Ahhhh!!  Grad School, blech!  When Matt first started school last January I thought we would never see the end of it.  Right out of the gate Matt was bombarded with papers, group projects, tests, quizzes, and presentations.  But we did it!!  And 18 months later Matt will have his Master’s Degree!!!  It was kind of funny how our life kind of went into a holding pattern as soon as Matt started school again. So with Matt’s last final FINALLY under his belt, we sat down and started to make of list of all the things that needed to be done around the house and yard.   After two pages of things that needed to get taken care of, we realized how much time and effort school was.  But it is finally over!!  He can work on his ever growing “honey do” list and things can get back to normal.  I’m so proud of Matt and all the hard work he put in to getting his Masters.  You’re the best honey, and I love you!!  Now, go weed that garden!!  :)

UVU Graduate

Friday Justin graduated from UVU.  When we got there and sat down, we realized that there was a REALLY ornery lady sitting right in front of us and when she saw all the kids that were with us, she said, “Is there a special section for people NOT from happy valley who have a million kids.”  She honestly truly said that.  But we didn’t let that our spirits down.

The kids wanted to try on Justin’s Cap and Tassel:

After the ceremony we headed out to dinner at Golden Corral (Justin’s Choice).  Matt had to work during the ceremony but I convinced him to take an early lunch and celebrate with the graduate:

Matt had to head back to work and since we all drove up together I had to drop him off.  So after an early lunch, I took the kids to the dollar movies to see Gnomeo and Juliet.  They had a tangled display in the entrance:

I loved Tangled, so I shoved my kids in front of it for a pic:

Then we picked up Matt after he got off work, and we headed home.  It was a great day and we are proud of Justin and all he has accomplished.

Easter Morning

It was an odd Easter.  Mom was sick and we decided to just have a quiet Easter.  The kids enjoyed their Easter baskets:

Jeremy got an MP3 Player courtesy of his Godmother Holly!.  Thanks for the gift BFF!!!  And Bailee got a mini pillow pet just like her big lady bug.  When she got her lady bug for Christmas she immediately named it “Cutie.”  So when we asked her what the name of her new pet would be she said, “Pretty.”

It was a nice and relaxing Easter Sunday.
