Spookfest #14 – Frightmares Part2

After everyone had their fill, we decided to head over to Lagoon’s new roller coaster – Bombora.
This was a pretty tame rollercoaster that even the twins could ride. This however did not ease Sunnie’s anxiety:

Everyone else quite enjoyed the little 30 second jaunt:

As I was holding the baby, while Cory and Sharon rode, the rest of the group decided to go again:

After the coaster, the teenagers (including Jeremy and Spencer) took off for more thrills while the rest of us headed over to Kiddie Land and ride Dinosaur Drop:


Next we went over to ride The Bat:

As we were waiting to swap on the Bat, the Lockdown haunted house was right next to ride and there were inmates freaking people out. So once everyone was off the ride, we decided to head to Dracula’s Castle. The teenagers even met up with us:

As we were waiting for everyone to get off the ride, Jeremy pulls out some sunglasses that Kaden had given and he announces that he is WAAAAAY too big (and too cool) to ride all the kiddie rides:

However the older kids wanted some time sans younger kids, so we forced Jeremy to stay with the little ones and ride the Tidal Wave, while Matt, Brandon and myself went on the Rocket:

On the way back to meet up with everyone, Matt spotted some witches wandering around the kid rides:

After a few rides on the Tidal Wave, we called the older ones to walk through the Corn Maze. Jeremy was protesting getting his picture taken with all the little kids. He was of the opinion that it wasn’t worth his time; however, when he saw that the characters were only given prizes to the kids who participated, he got right in there with all of them:


One of the stops on the maze was a gnome and there were tiny gnomes everywhere. A pair of which poked Matt in the eye:

The kids weren’t the only ones having fun:

As soon as Matt got wind that Kaden did not want his picture taken, he made it his mission to get the teenage in a photo even though he tried to use Jeremy as a human shield:

Then we all headed to Lockdown one of the many Haunted Houses Frightmares offers. On the way we saw a gravestone that interested a certain teenager:

Despite the teenagery attitude, Kaden is always such a good sport to let Jeremy climb all over him:

Once we reached Lockdown, we were separated into small groups to enter the jailhouse:

Bailee was trembling the entire time and Jeremy was glued to Matt’s arm. After exiting the haunted jail, Jeremy proclaims “Yah, I guess that was a little scary.” Then, he once again took off with the older kids while we headed to ride some octopus water ride. I decided to park it on a bench and wait. The ride broke and it was a looong wait. I was enjoying the crisp fall air and fall colors:

After a tasty churro break, we headed over to some Chinese Dragon spinny thing:

I was wanting to see the Hackenslash show so we wandered up to the front of the park. To kill some time we hit up:

Which was as terrifying as I remember.

While we were in line waiting for our Terror Ride, we saw one of the many monsters wondering around the park:

Oh wait, that was just a teenager. Here is the mosnter:

At this point, the Twins were tired and ready to go home. So Cory and Sharon took off. Ammon and Sam were still wanting to party so they stayed with us. I was trying to find the Hackenslash show and was told 2 different places and missed both shows, so we the little ones hopped on a Carousel while the older ones rode the White Roller Coaster. Then we headed over to Wicked which was broken down, so the older ones went on the Colossus. I opted to stay out with the younger kids:

By now, the Leavitts were beat so after another ride on the Tidal Wave, they headed home. Brandon and Angie headed over to the Screamer wit us:

Then they decided to call it a day as well. One of my favorite memories as a child was riding the skyway. I would always imagine riding it with my husband and cuddling and whatnot, but since we had so many kids, we had to split them up between the two of us. Oh well, maybe next year we can have our romantic “married” skyride. After we hopped off the skyride, we headed toward wicked that had a line back to where the Bat was, so we skipped that and opted to do the Trick or Treat Trail:

It was actually pretty cute. They had characters all dressed up and gave them cool things like light up flashy fish things, and hair barrettes. The kids had fun meeting all the characters. We started with an explorer:

And some weird animal person who is either supposed to be Cruella de Vil or a vet:

Then all the kids walked like an Egyptian:
 

Then we saw Alice and the Mad Hatter:
 
Next we visited with a pirate:
 
Then we entered a witches kitchen. I loved how each station was decorated:

And the last stop was a Princess:
 
By now, all the kiddos were dragging their feet. So we SLOWLY made our way to the front gates and our car. I loved all the fog, and lights and decorations. I couldn’t leave without a few photos:

We stopped for some dinner at In n Out Burger and headed for home. The kids were zonked out before we left the Salt Lake Valley. It was a fun spooky day. Happy Halloween Everyone!!
