Month of Love Celebration #4

Last week was Friday the 13th.  Sharon and I started to plan a little birthday party for Cory.  Earlier in the week I told the kids that we were having a birthday party for Cory and they needed to do some chores around the house to earn money to go and buy him a present.  So the whole week they remembered to make their beds, clean their rooms, and help with cooking and the dishes.  Thursday night we take them to the dollar store and set them loose.  Jeremy takes off straight for the manly aisle.  Bailee however, hasn't quite grasped the concept of "manly presents" so her first couple of choices were a doll and a girly purse.  Eventually though, she grabbed a flashlight and exclaims that since daddy has a lot of flashlights, Cory should too.
Meanwhile, Jeremy is scouring the store and finally comes back to the register holding a broom.  They were so excited to give Cory their carefully chosen presents.
The Morrill clan arrived a little before 6 and Bailee and Jeremy throw their presents at Cory and then give Ammon and Sam their Valentines.  Dinner was excellent.  Pulled pork sandwiches with baked beans and potato salad.  100_1570The twins LOVED their dinner.  Afterwards, Sharon pulled out Cory's birthday cake and we sang and ate until we couldn't eat anymore.
Then we all headed downstairs to watch the new Psych episode.  It was pretty freaky and a great way to celebrate Friday the 13th.  Happy Birthday Cory, thanks for giving us a reason to celebrate!!!!

She totally forgot the best part! We watched one of Cory and I's favorite all-time scary movies from when we were kids: Monster Squad. It brought me back to days when Cory and I each had a bag of Microwave popcorn, something to drink, and cuddled up in a blanket watching it and quoting lines. It was a lot scarier back then.
